Tips Lead to Capture of High-value Target, Munitions and IED Components
CAMP FALLUJAH, Iraq -- After getting a tip from a local Iraqi near Karmah early Friday morning, Marines captured an individual who has orchestrated attacks against Coalition forces.
Marines were conducting "knock-and-talk" operations, moving through neighborhoods and asking residents if they had seen suspicious activities. Upon knocking on the door of one house, they discovered a family holding a wake for a teenage boy killed by anti-Coalition forces, according to the father.
The father pointed out the location of the man suspected of the crime and Marines detained the man after making a positive identification. Marines quickly realized the man was a high-value target after checking his identity against previously collected information.
During their movement through Karmah, this same group of Marines found and destroyed 62 improvised explosive devices along key routes near the city.
Soldiers from 1st Brigade Combat Team, serving with the 1st Marine Division, raided a series of homes of suspected enemy insurgents Thursday night at about 10:30 p.m. They detained 31 persons and uncovered seven weapons caches. They recovered the following munitions, weapons and components common to improvised explosive devices:
Three AK-47 rifles 20 AK-47 magazines 15 cases of 7.62 ammunition One SKS rifle Two 50-round bandoliers of SKS ammunition One bolt-action rifle Three red flares 40 doorbells Tractor batteries Four 155mm fuse caps Assorted electrical components One homemade rocket launcher 30 57mm rockets One RPG night sight Rocket-propelled-grenade propellant M-77 TNT charges 100 pounds of TNT and C-4 plastic explosive One box of high-explosive grenades One box of smoke grenades
Marines near Ramadi also raided a home of a suspected IED-maker after getting a tip. They detained five anti-Coalition forces. Marines confiscated three AK-47 rifles, IED materials, including batteries, electrical wires and switches. Release #040424b

I imagine the doorbells are used as a switch. You ring bell from a remote location via a connected wire and it completes a circuit to set off an explosive. Pretty simple.

The push button for a command switch.
The bells could be used as a distraction device to draw more near for the explosion out of curiosity.
Just my thoughts.

Good, round them all up. I think all Iraqis are getting fed up with these people and just want them out of there.
Stick them in a camp in the very middle of the desert.
