Ted(the swimmer)Kennedy deserves to be where he is...to live the rest of his pitiful life in the ever reminding and comforting arms of a lie.

Thank you. Please give her a big b-day hug from me. B-days were so much more fun when we were 9. :)
When she is older you will be able to tell her that she shares her b-day with the day that America found out that we lost a great hero, and when she celebrates she will be able to keep Pat Tillmans name on our lips and in our memory for years to come.

kid to be strapped up with a hepatitis infected nailbomb I didn't know that! How truly sick and evil. If they don't kill you with the bomb they will infect you with hepatitis. It takes a truly evil, sick murderous bunch of maniacs to even think up such a thing. Duh!

According to interviews with fellow pilots, Williams' incredible eyesight and reflexes carried over into flying - they considered him to be one of the best pilots they ever flew with, he could see enemy fighters before anybody else could. Some of that could just be bad memory. Ted Williams never even flew a combat mission in WWII, tho' he did serve as a pilot. In Korea, he almost didn't make it back to base in the first combat mission he ever flew as his plane had been hit and he lost his bearings. Had to be led back by a fellow pilot and crash landed. He was pretty lucky to survive. Don't really know what his missions were like after that first one.

Thanks! We certainly do remember. Correction: at least MOST of us remember.

What an American hero! He was worth a 1,000 of the terrorist scum he faced. Words can't begin express my thanks to, and admiration of, Pat Tillman.

Coop ....Fox just did an update from the Afghanistan. They talked to one of their reporters in Afghanistan who thinks this was the same mission they had a report of an American soldier killed and two others wounded in the Khost area.........they were on a search and destroy mission against a Al Qaeda stronghold.

Ted Williams served. All that counts to me. Also, he went to my high school, Hoover (well before me).

I found out Pat Tillman died at work this morning. I live in Arizona and the person who told us said one of the female newscasters was in tears.
I graduated from ASU, loved ASU football and got to watch Pat play the 4 years he was there. Then we watched him play with the Cards. When he enlisted we were proud. It takes quite a person to give up what he had. And when Simeon Rice, his former team mate said upon his enlistment, that Pat was only a so-so player and too small, I couldn't belive it.
We'll remember what Pat Tillman gave for his country NOT what Simeon Rice did on the football field.
It is a sad day. But Tillman was the kind of guy who would probably say, "Buck up and carry on. There's still lots left to do.

What a shame...we are all so lucky to have fine young men like Pat. Prayers to his family.

I heard on local news they will probably retire his Cardinal #40.

Reuters report..
The U.S. military in the Afghan capital, Kabul, said on Friday that a soldier was killed and two wounded in a firefight near the village of Sperah southwest of Khost on Thursday after a patrol was ambushed. But it did not identify the dead soldier.

SUN DEVIL stadium isn't exactly a generic name. It's what we are. The ASU Sun Devils. I don't want the name changed. We already have changed the name of one of our freeways to Piestewa Peak right after Lori Piestewa was killed. They changed some rules to do it and it was not a popular decision.
While I want to see Pat Tillman honored, I want it done in a way that will honor him most. Don't know what that is yet.

Ted Williams served. All that counts to me. No doubt - I respect him and Pat Tillman and many others who put their lucrative careers on hold to serve. Heck, I even respect Elvis for it! It takes a special kind to put behind the easy life to do what they think is right.
