The Special Forces Prayer
Almighty God Who art the Author of Liberty and the Champion of the oppressed hear our prayer.
We the men of Special Forces, acknowledge our dependence upon Thee in the preservation of human freedom. Go with us as we seek to defend the defenseless and to free the enslaved.
May we ever remember that our nation, whose oath "in God We Trust," expects that we shall requit ourselves with honor, that we may never bring shame upon our faith, our families, or our fellow men.
Grant us wisdom from Thy mind, courage from Thine heart, and protection by Thine hand. It is for Thee that we do battle, and to thee belongs the victor's crown. For Thine is the kingdom, and the power and glory forever,
Amen!
I know, some nit-pickers are going to see SF and think this is out of place. Trust me, many Ranger heads have bowed to this prayer.
Bless you all for your thoughts and prayers today. Rangers tend to work out of the public eye. The trails they walk and missions they run are not those seen on the evening news.
The reason for that is simple...Rangers Lead the Way.

I graduated from ASU in '91.
I loved Tempe.
It makes me feel doubly sad about the loss of Ranger Tillman....

Yes. I guess someone needs to touch bases with Mr. Robinson.

This is a huge loss. Not a million peace protesters are worth one life like his.

I wouldn't sweat it. I've seen references to Moore's soulmate Ted Kennedy on the thread.
The good news is that their smallness does indeed only highlight the greatness of those who choose honor over avarice, decay and an ignominious, pointless demise.

I am a retired NFL Lineman that is active with the retired players. The NFL should find a way to honor Pat in some lasting way. I would bet that you could not find many current NFL players that would give up what Pat did to just to get into the Army. All the current players care about is money and who is kissing their Butts. Pat is a true American Hero and may the Good Lord bless him, his family and loved ones. Agreed. I think it would be appropriate and honorable, for all sports, to have a wing in their respective HoF's with mentions and memorabilia of the players in their leagues that served and died in the line of duty.

It's funny. In Canada our Rememberance Day ceremonies often use that poem... with the last verse omitted. Figures, doesn't it?

Mike Brown in Cincinnati is his long lost twin. Part of the reason I have hated the Bengals my whole life.

We lived in AZ when he was going to ASU and loved to hate him as Buckeye fans, but had a profound respect for his love for his country.
This man will be deeply missed on so many levels. RIP soldier and hero.
