Perhaps Rice is just jealous because he couldn't pass a drug test with a years notice or his criminal record would keep him out of the military and most countries.

Very sad, proud and enormously grateful ASU Alumni bump.
Rename that stadium. No politics. No BS. Just get it done.
We have Piestewa Peak. We get Tillman Stadium. No excuses.

"For those of us who don't have family or friends serving, this is the first loss that feels personal." Yes, it does bring it home, doesn't it? Pledging to sacrifice three years of his privileged life to serve his country is admirable enough, but now to have made the ultimate sacrifice, I really have a lump in my throat.
May the Lord be with his family and friends...MUD

Japan and Germany provide models on which to base our actions. Let me clarify-- I am of course referring here to our military defeat and subsequent post-war occupation of Japan and Germany.

Read Ralph Peters latest--it is so dead on. The American street (at least the one I travel on) is pretty damn sick of the barbarians in the mideast and SW Asia.

Actually, our VOLUNTEER military is brimming with men and women of the same honorable cut.

Maybe I am eternally damned for saying so, But I think we are approaching the time when we will have to replicate what we did at Hiroshima and Nagasaki in the region.
Despite our soft touch and building projects and social worker posture in Iraq, they still slap us and kill our people. God forgive me, but they deserve anything they get. We need to stop the pc bs and take the gloves off. If they want terror, we shoudl give it to them!!!

I'm not even a sports fan, but my husband showed me the story of Tillman joining the rangers and I was SO impressed. This is SO heartbreaking! Prayers for his family and for ALL families who have lost loved ones fighting for this country.

....the more the American people hear about this man, the more they will understand.
Not the biggest, strongest, fastest, but without doubt an example for ALL to admire. OUR culture sets standards, some follow, some stray but all have the ability to reflect and correct
Let the stories you hear over the next few days, give you the opportunity to pass along his story.

When I called my husband this morning he told me about this and I started crying. You asked if any other well-known people had gone over. I know Bruce Willis at least tried, but was too old to be let in. At least his heart and honor were in the right place. Too bad there aren't more like these men. Real role models.

Tillman Stadium. That's actually got a nice ring to it. I'd support it.

May God bless this man Chris.
I hope there is a movie made about him someday. We can all be cynical and say Hollywood won't do it--but The Passion of the Christ became a reality because of one man's drive.
The story of Pat Tillman needs to be told, and re-told.
