Top Saudi Cleric Denounces Riyadh Bombings (It matters when it is their own)

RIYADH, Saudi Arabia - Those responsible for Saudi Arabia's latest suicide attack will be "burned in hell," the kingdom's top cleric said Thursday, as investigators searched for clues to the deadly bombing.

Five people, including two senior police officers and an 11-year-old girl, were killed along with the suicide bomber in Wednesday's attack on the administrative building of the General Security, the Interior Ministry said. It said 148 people were injured.

A shadowy Islamic extremist group, the purportedly al-Qaida inspired al-Haramin Brigades, released a statement on at least two Islamic Web sites claiming responsibility for the attack. The authenticity of the statement could not be verified.

Grand Mufti Abdul-Aziz al-Sheik, the kingdom's highest religious authority, condemned the attack "as one of the greatest sins."

It is O.K. to go after "Infidels", but it is now coming home to roost.

Prediction: if "moderate" Islam doesn't institute its own version of an Inquisition within the next few years, then "radical" Islam is going take the steering wheel and drive the entire religion right off a cliff and straight into hell.

The only reason they oppose Al Queda isn't because they murder Americans, and other innocents. Its because Al Queda is a threat to their monarchy. That's the only reason. The could care about 9/11. They fund terrorism themselves, like the group Hamas.

In order to get there the damn clerics better get off their holier-than-thou butts and burn them here first.

The Saudi Monarchy in Arabia has been our ally for two generations. They were the original target of Bin Laden. Indeed, it is because of our good relations with Saudi-Arabia, that Bin Laden's international terrorists targetted us to begin with.

Nothing is more counter-productive than the senseless antagonism that some keep expressing even towards Conservative Moslem factions. Would you really want to see Saudi society unravel, our friends ruined? Do you think that would help America? How could it possibly help America?

The Saudis have not only repeatedly helped us, by taking a more "liberal" attitude than some other major oil producers, with respect to current production; they have invested an enormous percentage of their oil revenues in American companies. They have been a factor in propping up our Stock Market. We benefit greatly by having a friendly Government control the World's largest oil reserves. Only someone really out of touch with reality, would want to undermine them.

Thanks for your clarity and sanity too. Those that constantly shriek that we should be at war with Saudi Arabia are ignorant and dangerous.

They want to see the debacle that is Iran repeated in Saudi Arabia.

You need to take a urinalysis test (which you will probably study for). The Saudi Royal family has been financing terrorism and promoting terrorism by promoting the fanatic religious sect of Wahabbism and the madrassa school system prevalent in Pakistan. The corrupt Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is not an ally of the United States of America.

Saudi Arabia is a theocracy (The words in Arabic on the Saudi Flag state "There is no God but Allah and Mohammed is his prophet") and the incubator of terrorism. Your ignorance is striking.

Saudi Arabia is a theocracy (The words in Arabic on the Saudi Flag state "There is no God but Allah and Mohammed is his prophet") and the incubator of terrorism. Your ignorance is striking.

You quote the primary creed of a Faith, as though you are exposing something. Just what do you think is the significance of your quotation? Every student of religion in the world is familiar with it. Yes Islam is a monotheistic religion, based upon the teachings of Mohammed as the primary prophet of that One God. What is your point, but pure religious intolerance?

Yes, Saudi Arabia is a theocracy--which is a matter for her people to be concerned with, not you. Colonial Massachusetts was a theorcracy, as was Connecticut. I mention them, rather than some of the Southern theocracies, because the New Englanders were more dogmatic, and achieving a theocracy of their choosing was a principal motive--second only to the desire for land--for their settling here. If you cannot understand that different peoples define "freedom" differently; that each people must be a judge of their own value systems; you have little business meddling in international affairs.

We do not need any more "bulls in the china closets of the world."

For the common sense way to fight the War on Terror, see War 2001!. Why would you want to make all Moslems you enemies, when so many could be our natural allies, in dealing with the outlaws in their own midst? Why do you insist on insulting those who have more to lose to the Bin Ladens of the world--because they are more at immediate risk--than we have ever been? Would you rather win the War, or continue it for generations, to humor your personal animosities?

What he said does not reflect clarity and sanity. It is falsehood and delusion. The Saudis hate us. They are just using us in the short run while their long-term goal is to enslave and destroy us. We have been trying to use them and have gotten substantial benefit from the relationship. Still, the bottom line is that the Saudis hate us and their long-term goal is to destroy us. The only way that we will ever be able to truly co-exist with them is if they fundamentally change their religion and culture. They have absolutely no intention of doing this.

The ONLY way this thing is going to be truely defeated is for a council of clerics to form and to start taking on the Imams who are preaching this hatred.

When an Imam is caught instigating violence he should be disposed of by his peers. Take out the Imams and soon the recruiting will fall off.

that's exactly what is going on over in the theocracy of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia which is not an ally of the United States of America. The people of Saudi Arabia are fed up with their corrupt Saudi Royal Family. It is not a job for the U.S. Military to prop up the terrorist promoting Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Wahhabi sect or the madrassas which are financed by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The Saudi Royal family is riding the tiger of terrorism which they created. That tiger is going to devour them. That's their fault and their problem. They have no one to blame but themselves.

When have you ever been to Saudi Arabia or the Middle East in general, have you ever been out of the state of Ohio? Do you know anything about the real world?

The Saudi's want to destoy us? What a simplistic statement. Some in S.A. do want to destroy us and some in S.A. don't.

the people of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia do not support the Saudi Royal Family, that's the problem of the Saudi Royal Family not for the U.S. Military to prop up the corrupt Saudi Royal Family.

The Saudi Royal Family are riding the tiger of terror which they created, that's their problem not the U.S. Military. The Saudi Royal Family was not concerned about the terror which they unleached upon the infidel U.S. until that tiger of terror started biting them on their own behinds.

So there is only one "cleric" who denounced this massacre? As usual, their silence only reinforces the fact that the other eight gazillion "clerics" are giving their approval to follow the islamic rule of murder and mayhem.
