Rush Limbaiugh: Woodward at War – A "Plan of Attack" against George W. Bush?
The Wall Street Journal Opinion Journal ^ | April 21, 2004 | Rush Limbaugh

Bob Woodward is back with yet another book, "Plan of Attack." That title made me first think the work was a manual on unseating George W. Bush. Discussing his book on CBS's "60 Minutes," Mr. Woodward said, in essence, that Dick Cheney ran the Iraq war and talked President Bush into it, though President Bush was never crazy about it; the CIA botched everything again; the one man in the administration we can trust, Colin Powell, was kept out of the loop; God talks to President Bush and President Bush listens; and President Bush is an idiot who disdains the truly smart people of the world.

Frankly, I don't understand why the president or anyone else in the administration who supports the war against Iraq would give Mr. Woodward the time of day. Surely they had to know that his reporting methods, and his popularity with the "beautiful people" inside the Beltway for whacking Republican after Republican, would result in the inevitable anti-Bush, antiwar screed.

Few have yet read the book. It didn't become publicly available until yesterday, only after Mr. Woodward had an opportunity to hype his conclusions by way of a carefully choreographed release of selected excerpts in the Washington Post and friendly interviews on "60 Minutes" and other programs. But already, one of the main thrusts of his book — that the president, while in Crawford, Texas, decided to go to war in January 2003 — is disputed by Condoleezza Rice, who was with him at the time. On another CBS show, "Face the Nation," Ms. Rice recalled that President Bush said, "Now, I think we probably are going to have to go to war, we're going to have to go to war." But, she said, it wasn't until March 2003 when he finally made the decision.

Or Tim Russert, or George Snuffleupagus, or Tom Brokaw.....

When will President Bush learn that this "new tone" stuff doesn't work on people who are tone deaf?

Wood denied te quote about a deal with S.A. on oil price. The media likes it's made-up quote more than Woodward's made-up quote.

the nerve of President Bush. he dared to prepare the country for possible & admittedly likely war with Iraq. he prepared the troops at the same time he proceeded along with the blackmail, bribe tained saga that is the United Nations. he even dared spend funds after Congress had voted for such before the election that prior November. what nerve. nerves of steel that is. the DemoncRATs are in deep dooh-dooh if this is the best Woodward came up with to help Kerry at this point.

The talking heads on Brit's show today basically said just that. Hehe.

He might have been lulled into trusting Bobby because of his other book, Bush At War which was a very good, fair treatment of the war on terror. It wasn't written during an election year however, and clearly Bob has his priorities.

This is an official transcript of the infamous Casey interview by Bob Woodward, supplied by "Big Ear" a source that refuses to reveal her identity. Our editor certifies that we have pinky sworn that this is a real imperson... er, person.

(Begin Transcript)

Woodward: Mr. Casey? (Sound of slap) Mr. Casey? I'm Bob Woodward with the Washington Post... you know, the guy who made up "Deep Throat" and brought down a president. (another slap) Mr. Casey, could we have some focus here?

Casey: ""

Woodward: Well, OK! Tell you what, I'll whisper a statement to you and if you disagree with the statement, tell me. If not, just stay silent. OK? If you agree, just don't say anything.

Casey: ""

Woodward: Remember, this is 'ON THE RECORD'... oh, I say that metaphorically... I don't really have a tape recorder. OK?

Casey: ""

Woodward: OK, First statement: Oliver North stole money from the government when he had a $200,000 renovation done to his house. Right?

Casey: ""

Woodward: AH! you agree. Second Question. Ronald Reagan was fully aware of the illegal nature of the Iran-Contra affair.

Casey: ""

Woodward: (to himself) Casey agrees. (Louder) Next Question: This administration deliberately chose to ignore the law and thumb its nose at Congress.

Casey: ""

Woodward: We're on a roll here... Next statement: You personally think Ronald Reagan has the brains of a rabbit and the attention span of a chipmunk.

Casey: ""

Woodward: lessee, what to say... Oh, I know! Nancy is a shrew and a tarot reading wierdo that told the president what to say.

Casey: ""

Woodward: Whow! this is great! Next... and you think that the fact that Ronald Wilson Reagan has six letters in each of his names means that he is the anti-christ.

Casey: ""

Woodward: Ok, I think I hear the nurse coming... We'll have to finish this up fast. AHHH? lessee... OK! You agree that anything else I think of for my book was something you would say and DID say in our interview.

Casey: "" bleeeeee__________________________________________p

Nurses voice: Cardiac Arrest in fifteen... flatline.... Mr. Casey, hold on....

(end of transcript)

>>Now, I think we probably are going to have to go to war,

He didn't know at the time that Iraq was bribing France, Germany, & Russia - and amazingly, they accepted the bribes.

Could this war have been prevented by some honest liberals?

Probably. The anti-war crowd needs to finger point in the mirror.

Wonder exactly "WHEN" Hillry made plans to be on the Weary King show last night.

I did not, could not bear to watch the "OWED" one, but the timing of her speaking to her faithful on CNN is a bit curious.

I think you're right, she had her visit with Larry King timed and it was calculated for a reason. I read on another web sight this morning that Hillary said that Bush is not intellectually curious. What a crock, does she think that a president such as her horney husband is so curious? What does she want, a president that thinks only with his weiner? She's got something brewing and I DO NOT TRUST HER!

Woodward and his glad-handers at CBS. I don't think there's anyone left in American who hasn't seen how the Viacom machine works as media enablers for liberals.

Woodward has little ethics, can't be trusted, hates conservatives, dislikes Republicans, embraces liberals.

His book isn't worth the paper it's written on.

What I don't understand is why, if the book's allegations aren't true, the President recommends the book on his web site.

http://www.georgebush.com/KerryMediaCenter/#books

He even has a link to Amazon so people can buy it!
