[history]
John O'Neill, the Vietnam veteran who took on John Kerry in the 1971 debate on American "war crimes" that was recently rebroadcast on C-SPAN, will be interviewed by Wolf Blitzer on CNN this evening. O'Neill, who commanded a Swift boat in the same division as Kerry -- though for considerably longer -- more than held his own against Kerry during a 90-minute special broadcast of the Dick Cavett Show. Now he is challenging Senator Kerry to continue the debate they began 33 years ago, in an effort to clear the names of the Vietnam veterans Kerry once accused of war crimes "committed on a day-to-day basis with the full awareness of officers at all levels of command."

Yes 1220 AM from Cleveland Station WHK. You can hear it on 1220 from as far away as Washington, DC -- depending on the atmosphere -- PAUL SCHIFFER tonight -- 2 Swift Boat Commanders who will back John O'Neill up -- Kerry is lying about his military record.

"I would like to know how Kerry supported himself after he came back from Vietnam."
Some published reports say while he encouraged his comrades in the VVAW to sleep outside on the payment in Lafayette Square, across from the White House, Kerry slept in the comfort of a Georgetown socialite's townhouse.

CNN was John O'Neill's first TV interview since the 1971 Cavett show. He was strong -- Blitzer may have thought he could blow him away by asking him to forgive Kerry -- make it look like an old "bone to chew" -- O'Neill shot back. He said it was a question of fitness, not forgiveness. O'Neill showed Kerry's 1971 book mocking the US Military -- THE NEW SOLDIER -- O'Neill asked Kerry to allow it to be republished so the American public can see the depth of his anti-Americanism. Kerry has done everyting to supress the book, but you can view it at www.wintersoldier.com

What I'm most curious about is the shoulder surgery he had a few weeks ago. I know a person who had surgery around the same identical time Ketchup man did and she is still sore and is in therapy to help with better motion. HOW in the world can you have surgery in one week and the next be lifting up your whole arm in the air like I saw him do in one of his rallies?? The picture was shown here on FR! Can someone explain? Did he lie in order to get BOTOX during that week? What are the effects of botox right after you under go treatments?

Putting the interview on at 1715 eastern is tantamount to CNN burying it while claiming credit for airing it.
Let's see if they actually let the iterview get any prime time or sunday morning air time.
Or let's see how much it gets edited before it ever again gets seen.

Also, we can use help creating a transcript of John's 1971 debate with Kerry, please freepmail me. We have the debate in digital format, but we lack the time to transcribe it... thanks, I.T.You probably saw it already, but I transcribed a couple short segments over on the live thread here. (Related comments here, here, and here.)

"Did Kerry flack say he volunteered for TWO tours of duty in Vietnam? What the...?"
Hummmm, this is not the first time I've heard that said. Guess we need to track down the dates. Although, if what the flack said is true I can't believe the media hasn't been broadcasting it non-stop.

One of the duties my destroyer used to do was supply PBR's
with supplies when we weren't patrolling in North Viet Nam or
providing gunfire support in South Viet Nam.
I was there when Hanoi Kerry was.
What a disgrace to all who gave their all.

SOOOO....if John Frankenstein Kerry is WASHED UP....Just who is going to be running against President Bush? Uh, look, Kerry is far from washed up. He's about even in the polls and has the entire media establishment fervently behind him. Let's not go overboard. We have a long effort ahead of us to bring these matters to the attention of Joe Q. Public.

Look at the ratings. Two years ago CNN was beating Fox 2 to 1. A year ago it was a tie or slight edge for fox.
Now it is a 2 to 1 blow out for Fox.
CNN gets $3.00 a year for every cable subscriber that can get CNN on their cable. Fox gets nothing. When the current contract is up in about 3 years, Fox is going to demand the $3.00 a year and they are going to take the money from CNN and give it to Fox.
PLus the advertising revenues are already better for FOX than CNN.
When the 3 bucks per subsriber goes away, CNN will be in big red ink territory. Time Warner may very well sell them. I would not be surprised to see Clear Channel buy CNN or perhaps they would change the format to some form of entertainment. But they will not make it in news the way they are currently run.
They will have to figure it out. They must go more to the right or lose it all.
Do you know that DISNEY owns the Sean Hannity show?
How can that be you ask? Why would the Peter Jennings people start and run the Sean Hannity show? It is pretty simple... they need the money.
To: Stultis
You probably saw it already, but I transcribed a couple short segments... I did see those. Are you, perchance, filled with enthusiasm at the prospect of transcribing a bit more?
like maybe all of it?
