Not surreal so much as it is sinister. I think the networks are fooling themselves these days. When I watch the news I listen more to what they aren't reporting than what they are. All the "important" network stories are little more than DNC spins or pop-culture analysis. The "World News Tonight" really isn't.

Check out what I said in the link here as well as the article I referred to there. They found "primary materials" ... that almost certainly means components which when combined make the nerve gas. Nobody is ever going to find VX itself in the possession of terrorists or anybody else. You do not travel with that junk itself, you mix the components when they are at a safe distance from you, if you're smart.

O'course, if you are a suicide murderer, you have more options at your disposal if you have the components at hand...

Thanks for looking into it. While I would not be surprised if Syria has Iraqi WMDs, I wouldn't take John Loftus' word for it. I don't trust Loftus, at all. His books are full of anti-CIA propaganda dependent on anonymous sources in the intelligence community, some of whom are clearly "ex"-KGB; one of his few named sources, Arthur Goldberg (on whom Loftus relies for rumors about Allen Dulles in The Secret War Against the Jews), was an old New Dealer tied to the far-left wing of the labor movement who was regarded as subversive by the FBI during World War II. During the war with Iraq Loftus reported unsubstantiated rumors like this as fact:

The last guest on tonight's Batchelor & Alexander show (WABC radio, 9:00 PM-l:00 AM) was John Loftus (John-Loftus.com). (This is not verbatim; I was taking notes.) He gave a detailed report, stating that Saddam, his sons, and high government officials are all dead. The USA was successful in tracking them to a meeting in a villa, which had an underground bunker (thermo baric effect). They were identified by ear prints as they were entering the villa. Two stealth bombers zeroed in on the chimney and released missiles, which penetrated to the bunker. Iraqi medical crews arrived and Saddam's body was removed, covered by a gas mask. They are still removing bodies from the site. Later, (or the next day) Tark Aziz(sp) called a meeting. 20 cruise missiles zeroed in on this meeting and killed those attending. They concluded by saying that the snake's head has been cut off.

My understanding is that VX is stored in its active liquid form and not prepared at the time of use. That is at least how the USA stored it. We stored it in barrels and ready-to-go in bombs and artillery shells.

The answer is that if they see the United State willing to use massive force, and the people see the United States willing to use massive force, even against World condemnation, they will see that the reaction to their actions will not be worth it.

You see Arabs are very good at math. So when they see that for everyone of ours they lose 7000 dead, they will pick someone else to mess with. Additionally, the civilians will see that because AQ attacked the Americans, many of their friends went to the happy fornication place in the sky, they will fear US more than AQ. Thus when they see AQ, they will turn them in.

This is called Deterrence.

Fear is a much more effective deterrence than money or food or new buildings or new schools, bridges, sewers, cars, computers because you can't enjoy these things if you are dead.
