The truth is out there. And it may have zoomed over Winnipeg last month. Three air traffic controllers at Winnipeg International Airport were among the witnesses who reported seeing an unidentified flying object streak thorough the sky on March 28 about 9:45 p.m.
"I don't think this was the 5:15 from Mars on an approach, but certainly we have to classify it as unexplained. We don't have any evidence to classify this as an extraterrestrial. It's puzzling," said Chris Rutkowski, a Winnipeg UFO researcher.
Didn't appear on radar
Rutkowski interviewed the three air traffic controllers who saw the object.
"It sounded a little like an airplane ... but they were absolutely positive (it wasn't)," he said, adding the object did not appear on the airport's radar.
One eyewitness, who asked to remain anonymous, said the object looked like a bright red point of light travelling low in the southwestern sky.
"I don't particularly believe in Martians but I have an open mind. There is something else out there," the man said.
It seemed to be flying at more than 400 kilometres per hour from west to east, he added.
"It was kind of angling away," he said.
He watched the object for 30 seconds, until it imploded into a smaller white light then disappeared.
Another witness, who also asked not to be named, said he had no idea what the object was.
"I've seen a lot of things and we can't find an explanation for this," he said.
Rutkowski said there were nine reports of UFOs that were similar in description from across Canada that same night.
"So in this case, now we have very qualified multiple observers," he said.
There are about 700 documented UFO sightings each year in Canada, he said.
Rutkowski is hoping to locate more people who saw the object.

Mass hysteria is an exceedingly inapt label attached to most such.
For one, the witnesses are usually disonnected and even quite unaware of each other.
For another, there's no clinical evidence of hysteria.
"Mass hysteria" --to my shrink's mind--is a term usually used by media or other powers that be which don't want to deal with an uncomfortable topic--whether per orders or personal discomfort related preference.
It sounds plausible to the uninitiated and uninformed. But really--it doesn't mean anything in the contexts regarding UFO's in which it's applied.
Now, if, a bonafide unique and very certainly mostly normal composition cloud but a cloud with a very unusual but natural shape wandered by in the sky, and everyone crossing the busiest intersection of main street down town at that moment suddenly came down with the same conviction that the cloud was Martians filled with little green men--until the cloud dispersed quickly in the noonday hot sun as in slow wispy moves normally as clouds are wont to do . . . THEN, perhaps one could talk about "mass hysteria" that MIGHT have existed for a FEW BRIEF MOMENTS.
I think it's a bogus term thought up as part of the typical disinformation stuff.

Two extraterrestrials were whizzing over Winnipeg. They're lucky it was Winnipeg and not the United States. We're Americans, and Americans whizz back!

I'm (not really) surprised
these guys don't have a report on this. They've been pretty constant over the years, but, then again, they seem to be more US oriented.

The government's disinformation campaign of the 50's and 60's was quite effective. Even now, anyone who even reports a UFO is considered a nut. Many people stil equate UFO with flying saucer.
I always figured there was more to the UFO situation since the government spent so much time and money to demonize people who made reports, especially people like airline pilots and military personnel.

Why are those UFO's gracing Canada with their visits. What's wrong with the good ole USA. They're welcome to come to my area anytime!

I STRONGLY AGREE.
Anything the gov spends so much time, energy, resources on telling us there's 'nothing there, move on' about . . .
must be serious business indeed.

"However, I wasn't referring to those types. I was referring to trained, credible professionals such as air traffic controllers, pilots, cops, doctors engineers etc.."
Yep, any of those can see a UFO - I just wonder how air traffic controllers, pilots, cops, doctors engineers go about being trained to identify an EXTRATERRESTRIAL intelligently controlled object.
