That left Israeli intelligence scrambling to figure out who may have been elevated to the spot.Bob's Law...When in doubt, take them all out.

The idea is that it's better he have no name than no head.
To: BulletBobCo
Bwaahaaahaaa...yeah, right, the Mossad has absolutely no idea who this person might be.
Still looks like a change in tactics by the IDF. When Israelis get killed, take out those responsible for inciting the violence. At some point, those leaders are going to have to think twice about sending off homicide bombers and such.

Just follow the Depends truck...coming soon, The Tomb of the Unknown Pali-leader.

Although you are right, I would bet the Israelis have a very good idea who the new guy is, I think the ambiguity opens an even better option. They should start killing the whole senior leadership of this terrorist organization. At least the top 20 or 30 or 50 leaders.

Well, the Mosad can figure that one out in no time. Organizations like Hamas need a vociferous and extrovertive leader that can "inspire" usefull idiots to blow themselves up. It will be a matter of time because the media releases the name of the new leader who consequently will be the next to be blown up with a big, fat Hellfire-rocket.

Villager: We have found a hamas leader, may we shoot him?
Crowd: Shoot!! Shoot Him!
IMF: But how do you *know* he is a Hamas Leader?
Villager: He looks like one!
Other Villagers: Yeah! She looks like one!!!
IMF: Bring him forward.

And who are you, that is so wise in the ways of the Mossad?

I think the ambiguity opens an even better option. They should start killing the whole senior leadership of this terrorist organization. At least the top 20 or 30 or 50 leaders. I agree. Then what is Hamas going to say when the new head loses his head? Complain that Israel killed their leader? Then they'd simply have new target on their hands. Deny that the next Yassassination, targeted their leader? Insist that he was some no-name Hamas rank and file terrorist? Oh well then, "better luck" next time, IDF.
I'd really like to see Israel do second strikes on these incinerated cars, just to make sure. That is, after the crowd of "mourners" has gathered. A two minute delay ought to be enough.

Hey, the title of this article is:
A Boss with No Name
I think that's a call for Doug to write a parody song to the tune of "Horse with No Name" by America, LOL.

It's always been my secret fantasy that Israel could manage to get some "special" detonators into the Pallies hands - unbeknownst to the Pallies, ofcourse. Then just watch the neighborhoods start going off, bang boom boom.

Good Sir Knight, will you come with me to Camelot and join us at the Round Table?

The IDF will just have to label their Hellfires "To Whom it May Concern"

It did not work for the entertainer "Prince". It will not work for an unnamed leader. However, if its' identity and power is hidden from the world it will not matter because the leader is the guy that wears the black hood and totes an AK-47.

Hamas honchos balked at identifying the new leader in the terrorist hotbed of Gaza because they said that by doing so, they'd be putting a bull's-eye on one of their chiefs. Hamas has absolutely no predictive analytic ability. Pretty much the other 99% of the world that follows events over there knew the first time that Yassin's replacement would have a bull's-eye on him the moment he took the post.
They actually had to lose a replacement to figure it out? Idiots.
