[history]
The Federal Election Commission is investigating a Hollywood gala that raised more than $1 million for Hillary Rodham Clinton's 2000 Senate campaign, according to people familiar with the probe.
The FEC investigation, launched several weeks ago, comes atop a U.S. Justice Department inquiry that has focused in recent months on the event and former Clinton finance executive David Rosen.
In addition, documents reviewed by the Los Angeles Times indicate that a federal grand jury in Los Angeles has been examining evidence of wrongdoing by a number of people in connection with the activities of Aaron Tonken, the fund-raising impresario behind the event.

This could turn out to be huge. Here's to that prospect. Finally, one of the Clintons might get what's coming to them. And the cow jumped over the moon?

Let's see here..,
It took 2 million to put on this event, and Hilliary raised 1 million for her Senate campaign.
And this guy in jail is stuck with the tab after Hilliary and Bill and Denise Rich and her husband (oops, he left the country and was pardoned) climbed out the bathroom window???

I'm not sure if you're kidding or not, but I'm not inclined to agree.

Remember that Kerry has held some $6 million dollar events in the last few weeks, at least one.
Perhap this guy was hoping Hillary would wind up with more dough from the attendees. When you consider who was at the event, $1 million is a rather paultry sum.

Heheh... Klayman is nothing more than the shoe vendor. He brings them in, the clintons try them on, they fall like a matinee performance of Riverdance, and yet they walk away. I despise the injustice of it all. And yet I'll buy a ticket and a box of Raisinettes. I'm a sucker for them getting theirs. Let the show begin!
To: DoughtyOne
Well of course that $1 Million includes all the cash in envelopes and brown paper bags...

It would be nice but the FEC usually doesn't do more that a slap on the wrist, a fine and say don't do it again.... Moreover, the FEC is "bi-partisan" -- 3 GOPers and 3 Demos, if memory serves.
That a Democrat commissioner would vote to penalize Hillary is every bit as likely as a Democrat senator voting to impeach her husband.

He'll be back with the press releases around the first of Sept or shortly after he gets the caboose prize in the FL senate primary. In the meantime Fitton is trying his best to keep them coming out......

Bingo...... A criminal event is all that will or could change the outcome, imo.

Never quit hoping -- someday one of these scandals is going to take them out. This explains her not wanting to run with Kerry if you ask me.

Hmmmmm......maybe it's Kerry who won't run on a ticket with Mrs. Clinton.

The FEC is set up with 3 Repubs and 3 Dems. Does this mean that there is a Kerryman on the FEC who doesn't want Hill & Bill to supplant JFK at the convention as D. Morris predicts they will do?

Well you've got a point there. I'm sure Bill and Hillary have never seen a bag full of cash before. (ducking before lightening bolt strikes)
To: wagglebee
Considering the source (LA Times) is a liberal rag, I don't put much stock in the story.
