Gorelick gets 'death threats'

The 9-11 Commission member who has come under for her actions in the Clinton administration and for refusing to step down from the panel probing the Sept. 11 attacks on the U.S. says she's now receiving death threats.

"I can confirm that I've received threats at my office and my home," Jamie Gorelick told CNN. "I did get a bomb threat to my home."

She added, "I have gotten a lot of very vile e-mails. The bomb threat was by phone."

Gorelick told the network the threats were "scary," but said she was "not intimidated enough to resign from the commission."

The FBI is reportedly looking into the threats.

As WorldNetDaily reported last week, Gorelick – the former deputy attorney general under President Clinton – rejected calls that she step down from her position and become a witness after it was revealed she had authored a 1995 memo which created a "wall that segregated criminal investigators and intelligence agents," as current Attorney General John Ashcroft put it.

U.S. Rep. James Sensenbrenner, R-Wis., said Gorelick had an inherent conflict of interest, investigating the incident about which she herself could provide valuable information.

"I believe the commission's work and independence will be fatally damaged by the continued participation of Ms. Gorelick as a commissioner," Sensenbrenner said.

"All of the commission members have some government experience," Gorelick responded. "Everyone is subject to the same recusal policies. You could have had a commission with nobody who knew anything about government. And I don't think it would have been a very helpful commission."

What's the difference between vile email and very vile email? I thought this was an educated woman?

As we get to hear from her, she certainly gets more worse.......

She and Tom Daschle can commiserate. It's that evil talk radio I tell you.

"What happens when (radio talk show host) Rush Limbaugh attacks those of us in public life is that people aren't satisfied just to listen," the South Dakota Democrat explained. "They want to act because they get emotionally invested. And so, you know, the threats to those of us in public life go up dramatically, on our families and on us, in a way that's very disconcerting."

This idiot has a listed phone number. Didn't it occur to her that such a partisan, high profile, appointment might bring out the nuts?

Leftists always say they are getting death threats about one day after being accused of serious crimes. See, then they can claim, see, to be victims of, see, the nonexistent but vast right-wing conspiracy. See? I hope I'm not going too fast here for media pukes.

One must never forget that it is Ms. Gorelick's own sabotage of her country's defenses that is the issue here. But for her, those 3,000 people in the WTC might have been saved.

Poor Gorelick. She got caught disarming America in the fight against terror and now she does what all liberals do whenever they've been caught - she becomes a victim.

It's the oldest trick in the book. It's perfectly suited to degenerates and liars like Gorelick.

If you chance to read the thread today by Fred Barnes on Saddam's mass murders, it notes that many of the victims were found with bullet holes in the top of the head.

This would be a good investigation to reopen, eh? :-)

As far as I can tell the only members of the Clinton administration who don't belong in prison are the ones who had "unfortunate accidents", "committed suicide", etc.

Which is precisely why she cannot afford to step down. If she steps down, she might be called as a witness and have to testify as to what the meaning of IS is as it relates to what the wall is.

I hope she can prove that.

I believe she has received emails (though whether they were "vile" or not is a matter of her opinion.)

But the "death threats" claim is BS designed to engender sympathy or deflect attention from the matter at hand, IMO.

Wasn't it the elder Gore's black "help" which had to
sit in the hot car while the Gores went inside to
have meals? I seem to remember that little Al did
deliver sandwiches out to the car. Or is that just a
"suppressed memory" or a dream of mine? Can someone
check Lexis Nexis or Google, or some such thing, but
what do you key into the Search line? Bigotry?
Old Southern Traditions? Hypocrisy? Customs of the
Past Elites?

Dear Ms. Gorelick: Inasmuch as you chose to conceal, and thus indirectly lie about, your deleterious actions that have without doubt harmed our national security, why should I believe what you have to say about all of those supposed "death threats" now?
