Chris Wallace showed his taped interview with Jose Maria Aznar this morning.
What fools the Spanish were to not re-elect that fine and honorable man.

AQ has demanded that they leave Afghanistan as well. It will be interesting to see what the Spanish do there. It is a NATO operation. There were some reports that the Spanish will increase their presence in Afghanistan.

I say Bush should fire back and close our base at Rota, lets see the pinkos put the thousands who would be out of work on the commie dole of toilet papers and government cheese.

The news is reporting that the Bush Administration is so surprised by this. No way, Spain is doing what it said it would do. The new regime announced that they have chosen to cower in the face of terrorism and now they are carrying that out.

Let's pull our troops out of the base in Rota and shut it down. It'll ruin the sorry socialist economy of the region. They made their choices, so now it's time for them to deal with it.

How many Spanish troops are in Iraq right now?

Ths soldiers of Spain are not cowards, but unfortunately their current politicians are as well as the supporters of these same politicians.
Fear not. The Spanish will be back in the battle before long, and this time for real. Al Qaeda is not going to be mollified by this act of cowardice and retreat by the Socialists. They will only be emboldened and push too hard.
At some point what is going on will become intolerable to the majority of Spaniards, and the battle will be resumed. This is a fight to the finish and the boil of terrorism in Spain will only continue to suppurate. It will have to be addressed sooner or later before final victory or defeat in Spain.

Former President Aznar in FNC:
WALLACE: Some people are comparing it to the appeasement of Adolf Hitler before World War II.
AZNAR (THROUGH TRANSLATOR): There are countries that prefer to think that they're buying comfort at the cost of others, but I don't think that's the way you can act in this world. There are no neutral groups. Either you're with us, or you're with them.
And those who try to be neutral, I think, are the ones who are going to be paying the highest price. The terrorists are not going to forgive them, and they will have no understanding from those who are fighting against terrorism.

This is the best reason I can think of not to obsess with an 'International Coalition' when you have something important to do. The more world leaders you involve, the more time you need to waste screwing around making sure that they all feel important.
How about this for building a coalition: If you're not going to help, then keep you head down and stand back.

I feel bad for the Spanish Soldiers. I have heard reports that they are not thrilled about the election one bit. My son in Germany reminded me that the German troops on base in Weisbaden consistently go against orders and salute every Iraqi Freedom Veteran that they meet.

I agree with all the grief everyone is giving France, Spain, Germany, etc. They deserve it. But what
REALLY bothers me is that
we, America, may topple over into that appeasement column ourselves if John Kerry wins in November. The left seems to comprise roughly half the population of every Western country, including ours. Damn them. How did it come to this?
Where now the horse and the rider?
Where is the horn that was blowing? . . .
They have passed like rain on the mountain,

Americans are not a bit like the euroweenies. We stand tall, we fight, we don't run away!
When the world depends on us......we're there!
Do you think there are any countries on the face of the earth that count on the UN to protect them, save them, or stand up for them in times of trouble?
