Leftist Gets Slammed On Foxnews. Pays For Mistake.
Posted on 04/18/2004 7:05:15 AM PDT by ConservativeMan55
Foxnews anchor Julian Phillips interviewed POW Matt Maupins mother along with the mother of another soldier who is currently serving in Iraq. Both were very upbeat, and very positive. Despite the situations that there sons are currently in.
Now lets flashback for a second. Earlier in the week, Jesse Jackson offered to intervene in Thomas Hamil's case. Hamil's wife said that she approved and that she hoped Jackson was successful. Phillips apparently did not read his facts correctly.
He thought that Maupin's mother was the one that had said she approved of Jesse Jackson's involvement. So he asked a question that in essence he thought he already knew. Imagine that..a leftist asking a question that he already knew the answer to? Why would he do that? Because he expected the woman to praise Jackson. He thought he was asking a loaded question. Little did he know.
But that didn't happen. Here now is the exchange between the two.
Phillips: Jesse Jackson has offered to negotiate in order to release your son. What do yo..
Maupin's Mother: Uh. I don't think so.
Phillips: Uh yes but you said..
Maupin's Mother: NO. I don't want this to become political. Why would I want Jesse Jackson involved in this?
Phillips: Oh. I thought you had said...
At this point Mike steps in and tells Julian that it was Thomas Hamil's wife who had said it was ok for Jesse Jackson to negotiate.
This woman was obviously NO FAN of Jesse Jackson. The tone of voice she used and her facial expressions were of disgust. And I don't blame her. This mother just b&**slapped a leftist who was attempting to politicize her sons situation.

I saw the exchange and it was great...Mrs. Maupin was having no part of Jesse the racist Jackson's involvement.

M-F Fox is on constantly, but never on the weekends. Juliette is ok but I can't stand Mike's sexual enuendoes and Julian is just too left and boring. This morning early he was interviewing someone about the Hamas assasination and I surfed by in time to hear Julian cut the man off with what amounted to "yeah, whatever." I'd almost rather FOX get Mz. Perky so we could have fun.

Juliette is a fluff head, and Mike reminds me of used car salesman or the manager of a 3rd rate finance company. Julian, well........you said it. No Fox and Friends for me on weekends.

If, God forbid, anyone here was ever held hostage by terrs, (and BTW, those so held are NOT POW's, that confers an honor upon their kidnappers that they do not deserve), who would you rather have coming to help out...Jesse Jackson, or a platoon of SEALs?

Nor me. Weekends, I turn the tube on just long enough to make sure we haven't had a disaster while I slept, and thank you God and GW, so far, so good. My read on the Fox and Friends weekenders mirror yours.
To: demkicker
Julian Phillips is a left leaning moron. He's constantly ranting about topics of which he is ignorant and ruins their weekend show, IMO.I second that! Send him to CNN Headline News!

I am an avid F&F watcher during the week. I used to be on weekends too but I cannot take Julian. I too turn it on to see if anything happened and then flip to the home improvement/gardening shows until the 2 hour Fox business block comes on. I also have no place in my weekend routine for Ellen Ratner's hissy fits.
