The DC Chapter of Free Republic set up a Viet-Cong Vets for Kerry bake sale in front of Democrat Presidential candidate John Kerry's national headquarters in Washington DC this afternoon. The Kerry campaign responded by calling the D.C. police to shut down the bake sale.
When the D.C. police arrived they ordered the DC Chapter to shut down the protest in 15 minutes or they would ticket them for occupying a public space without a permit. At that point the police would then disperse them themselves.
Due to the short notice, and the fact that it would be a small group, the DC Chapter did not apply for a permit.
Kristinn is scheduled to appear on Fox News this afternoon for an in-studio interview. The interview should air sometime between 3:00 pm and 6:00 pm today. As more details become available, they will posted here.
Kudos to those that attended. The honor roll is Kristinn, Angelwood, TGSLTakoma, TBP, Trueblackman, and Staytrue.
Here is the link to the original announcement about the bake sale

Did anyone think of the idea to bake some medals with ribbons that would be thrown towards the building in protest?

Great work guys!!!!!
Standing O from Kentucky way, where I had to search a 100 mile radius to find a moveon bake sale...and it was in a -- how do I phrase it nicely -- stereotypical -- yeah, that's it...a stereotypically Kentucky area.

What is it about RATs and the military. In 1971 Kerry accused the those serving in Viet Nam with war crimes. Today Rangel says that those serving in Iraq are society's losers. They can't make it anywhere else so they turn to the military. That's the only reason to volunteer.

HA! What a great idea! I bet Kerry was reeeeaaallllllllllyyy ticked!

I'm waiting to read Doc and Firebrand's report on their fun and games in NYC yesterday.
P.S. I put all the prop food in the freezer, for the next one; and I warned my always-hungry son that he should not eat any of it, as it sat out in the sun for 4 hours. His answer: "Uhhhh...OK" and a shake of his head.
