Trucks use FAST lane to cross border
Associated Press
LAREDO -- A high-tech fast lane aimed at cutting border wait times for some trucks from hours to minutes opened Thursday at the United States' busiest southern border port.
The Free and Secure Trade, or FAST, lane at Laredo's World Trade Bridge is the second along the U.S.-Mexico border. FAST lanes also are planned by the end of the year at Otay Mesa, Calif.; El Calexico, Calif.; Nogales, Ariz.; Hidalgo, and Brownsville.
Trucks eligible for the lane are cleared in advance.
Customs and Border Protection Commissioner Robert Bonner said a special seal had been developed to assure that terrorists or smugglers do not breach the security of the loads.
The Laredo bridge has approximately 1.2 million trucks crossing it each year.

What a great idea! Let's see what we can do to make our borders more porous than what they already are.

LOL! Fill in the blank, what's the difference? Now I'm puzzled.
I thought ducks would just fly across the border rather than driving.
And bucks don't bother going through Customs anyway.
Nope, can't make heads nor tails of this.

"FAST" is the speed at which terrorists and illegal aliens are now going to be able to penetrate our borders and invade our country.

And who, exactly, is responsible for putting these special seals on the trucks, hmmm? I bet it isn't the US Border Patrol, or any other US agents. More likely, it's some "trustworthy" Mexican government officials or business men.
Yup...real secure!

a special seal had been developed to assure that terrorists or smugglers do not breach the security of the loads. And how exactly do you find out if the seal is broken as the trucks make a FAST-break across the border? All they need to do is put 200 Mexicans in the back of the trailer, break across the border, and scatter once they get pulled over by the border patrol. I'd bet half of them won't even get caught.
Another great idea to ensure that our borders are safe and secure brought to you by the geniuses in the US Government.

Sorry, can't help you. Your best bet is to start a vanity thread - plenty of people in that field on FR.

I did a search and it seems to have gotten around. Some of the features are not supported anymore, but its free, what do you expect?
