Rush: Gorelick Quietly Asked By Kean To Resign!
Rush Limbaugh Radio Show ^ | 4/16/04 | LS

Posted on 04/16/2004 10:30:35 AM PDT by LS

According to an article Rush just read, Jamie Gorelick was quietly asked by Commission Chairman Thomas Kean to resign from the 9/11 commission due to conflict of interest. According to an unnamed staffer, she refused. Should we start a poll on how long she lasts?

Like you are fond of saying, Never count your Hatch before he chickens.

Laura was right last night. We are far passed the time for politeness, and protocall. Borin' Orrin needs to learn that.

Gorelick's job on the commission is the same that it was under the Clinton administration, Chief Consigliere in charge of obstruction and obfuscation.

The commission is passé and increasingly counterproductive.

In terms of the bottomline, yes, but the Commission continues to provide soundbites for the likes of Chris Matthews, Larry King, the Today Show, and other shills of the Democrat Party.

This does make one wonder if she is not on the brink of becoming a "fosterism."

She was put on the panel by Dasshole and she won't leave until the rest of the panel forces her or Dasshole makes her.

It's becoming apparent this commission has two purposes from the dem perspective: blame Bush and exonerate Clinton.

The commission is passé and increasingly counterproductive.

This commission is nothing but take all blame off the toon administration and try to build some kind of legacy for el slicko. I couldn't believe the treatment Dr. Rice got from democrat commission members. They were just hateful and mean.

Then let's hope the Republicans (other than Sensenbrenner) are smart enough to start hammering this commission because of those facts. I was struck by the staffer's comments that six good months of work below the radar have been destroyed by two days of grandstanding by the commission members. This is the biggest charade and fraud we've ever witnessed.

"I know and respect Jamie Gorelick," he said. "I trust she will do the right thing regarding any conflict of interest or appearance of conflict of interest regarding her continuing service on the 9/11 commission."

I read this that Hatch thinks she should resign.

'Or is it possible that some of them were on the take, too? '

If free money was available, my guess would be that billary knocked everyone else aside to get theirs first.

Oh well, it was fun to dream. Still, let's hope that this scandal can be milked for all its worth.

I think you have it there. If Kean in fact broached with Gore-Lick that she resign, and she refused, that's a pretty good indication that she's not beholden to the commission chair, but to someone else...Clinton, most likely. She'll only do what Clinton directs. Now, if Clinton believes that the whole situation is about to explode out of his control, he may tell her to leave, and then Daschle can appoint a replacement who will have the same marching orders: obstruct and cover-up.

I read this that Hatch thinks she should resign.

I read it as Hatch trying to pull a John Kerry - coming down on both sides of the argument. Talk about a definitive statement of a non-position.

Kean's arrogance and gorelick's corruption have done the country a favor. They have shown that the commission is a farce that has become a detriment to national security rather than an attempt to protect our country in the future.
