Testy Teresa Tirade: I Can't Believe I Came to America
NewsMax.com, New York Post ^ | April 18, 2004 | Carl Limbacher

Posted on 04/16/2004 6:02:25 AM PDT by Carl/NewsMax

It didn't take long for the rigors of the campaign trail to sour first lady-in-waiting Teresa Heinz, who fumed yesterday that "can't believe" she moved to America and married an American politician.

"I can't believe my family left Africa and came to this country," Heinz Kerry complained to the New York Post's Cindy Adams. "I can't believe I ever even married an American."

"A politician's wife has a hard life," she said. "To become more of a 'thing' and less of a person is terrible."

Teresa's tirade continued, "I can't believe I married a second politician." Then referring to her first husband, the late Sen. John Heinz, she blasted, "I can't believe I married the first politician. He wasn't one when we met."

"What people don't know is that I am basically shy. I never wanted to do this," Heinz Kerry complained.

How stupid of her to have this tantrum - how did she think this would play, or did she not think at all, does she have no self control? A very dumb Pickle Princess!

It sounds like she might be too honest deep down for the left. She's wealthy and unlike Hillary doesn't really need her husband and his connections. Hillary was more willing to try to fake being the happy wife of an adulterer, I wonder if they can be as certain of Teresa standing by her man.

Here's my favorite Teresa article of all time:

The Heart of Politics
One Woman, Two Senators and Presidential Ambitions: The Washington Tale of John Kerry and Teresa Heinz

By Mark Leibovich
Washington Post Staff Writer
Sunday, June 2, 2002; Page F01

Teresa Heinz is getting up a full head of rage while her husband, Sen. John Kerry, fidgets.

They are in the living room of their Georgetown home, where Heinz has lived ever since her late first husband, John Heinz, came to Washington in 1971 as a Republican congressman from Pennsylvania. In the front entrance, the first things a visitor sees are two framed photos of Teresa Heinz cuddled with tall, smiling men with big heads of brown hair: In one is John Kerry, in the other John Heinz.

She still calls John Heinz "my husband" and doesn't always correct herself -- "my late husband" -- even when Kerry is around. She still wears the blue sapphire engagement ring that Heinz gave her.

But John Heinz's enduring presence in Teresa's life is best revealed when someone slights his memory. Which, at least indirectly, is why she and Kerry are now in mid-bicker.

"That guy does not deserve diplomacy," says Heinz. She is referring to Sen. Rick Santorum, the Pennsylvania Republican who offended her in 1994 during his campaign for John Heinz's old Senate seat. She won't elaborate on what Santorum said to earn her enmity, only that she won't speak to him again.

"He's changed," Kerry mumbles, trying to keep this from becoming an on-the-record spectacle. The Massachusetts Democrat tries to add that he gets along with his colleague, but Heinz interrupts. "Sweetie, I know," Kerry says, talking over her, "I'm just saying . . ."

He exhales a long, loud sigh.

"I can't believe I ever even married an American."

"And all that filthy money, I can't believe I ever had to inherit it." I like Teresa, she has the worst case of foot-in-mouth disease of anyone since Martha Mitchell.:)

She's a wonderful asset - to Republicans.

When I see the First Lady stand for The Star Spangled Banner, I don't want it to be an ironic statement.

It will be Cindy Adams fault. A misquote. Caught Madame Kerry in a 'down' moment. Cindy Adams, no doubt is a Bush supporter. Cindy gets her 'orders' from the RNC...

Gee, do you think the billion dollars Heinz was worth had a little something to do with her decision to leave the beloved African homeland....?

I didn't see anything that she's complaining about that cannot be reversed.

I'm sure John F'n would have no trouble obtaining another annulment.

Shy, my sweet backside!

Shy people do not have houses in Nantucket, possible the most "social" place on earth. It is non-stop Yacht clubbing, cocktail parties, etc.

Not to mention the ski-slope socializing in Idaho, or wherever.

Shy people live quiet lives in much less socially demanding locations. I just wonder why Shy L'il Teresa doesn't have a modest little abode in tony Palm Beach.

Not buying this for a second, and I know what I am talking about with the hectic Nantucket social scene. Been there, done that, during the long past teen years. Ran like the dickens from that cess pool, as soon as I could. Wouldn't let my children anywhere near that place, in spite of the grands begging for them to visit during the "season".

You don't like it here?? Fine! Leave!

We allow that here. . . in your case, we encourage it.

And when you do, three things: 1) leave your husband here as we need the laughs, 2) leave all the money here as well; you damn sure didn't earn it, and 3) don't let the door hit you in the ass when you leave.

If she doesn't want to be a politician's wife then the answer is quite simple.
Divorce the jerk.

Maybe the Demonrats can boost John F'n Kerry's campaign by promoting the fact he is a single man.

It might attract more women and homosexuals to vote for him thinking he is available.

I am no Teresa fan by a long shot, but the original story in the NY Post doesn't read the Newmax story does. I read her "coming to America" quote more as disbelief than complaint.

She does say in the Post column that she washed her own hair today like that will ingratiate her with women all over the country. And she does whine and complain about the campaign trail and loss of privacy. She should just tell John to stop it and go back to their private life. That would be just fine with me!!!

Quite a 'telling' statement and this from a 'First Lady' candidate. Un-freaking-believable!
