1996: Clinton Considered Jamie Gorelick for CIA Director

WOMEN'S GROUPS SEEK ENTRY TO PRESIDENT'S INNER CIRCLE; GORELICK CONSIDERED FOR CIA

December 3, 1996

President Clinton faces a choice as he returns this week to the business of staffing his administration for a second term: He will either make history by appointing a woman to one of the top spots on his national security team, or risk sorely disappointing many of the very voters who provided his margin of victory in last month's election.

This ambivalence is playing itself out in the drama over whether Clinton will name U.N. Ambassador Madeleine K. Albright to be the first female secretary of state. While declining to make Albright's appointment a litmus test for Clinton, top women's advocates said they would regard it as a setback if Clinton does not name a woman to one of several vacancies in top national security jobs that historically have been the province of white men.

"It would be a real blow, and it would be fairly blatant," given how Clinton ran as an advocate for women, said Patricia Ireland, president of the National Organization for Women. "Foreign policy is a place where women really do need to make some breakthroughs."

Besides Albright, the woman cited most frequently by administration officials as likely for a top national security job is Deputy Attorney General Jamie S. Gorelick, who is being considered for CIA director.

Hellary was always in charge and still is .. (imo) Bill was just her puppet to push her agenda

I agree, she's running the clintoon show as well at the democratic party, by blackmail of course. I hope that this all blows up in her ugly face. By what I've been witnessing in this 9/11 commission, it is blowing up in her face! The rat party is starting to implode.

It was bad enough when clinton was in office. Now we find his "legacy" of scandal, evil, and corruption continuing in insidious ways...infections and pustules erupting throughout our government......we might as well call him Cancer Bill and his mate-in-crime/disease, HIV Hillary.

Thanks to our news media.
Daily inundation of anti-Bush news.

IF we had a honest news media,
there's not a doubt in my mind
that we would elect politicians
"Right of center" in large majorities.

We now know that it was in this Mid-1990's time period that OSAMA bin LADEN gave his go-ahead for the planning of future attacks on America that came on September 11, 2001.

BILL CLINTON refused 3 Offers, negotiated by MONSOOR IJAZ, to bring OSAMA bin LADSEN from the Sudan to America on a Silver Platter ...starting in this same time period.

MONSOOR IJAZ has been called to testify about this in private before the 9/11 Commission on May 7th. He is demanding a Session IN PUBLIC on National TV.

MONSOOR IJAZ deserves nothing less ...and now needs our help to get there so he can help ..US.. in Time of War.

Apparently Miss Patsy Ireland has never heard of Reagan's UN Ambassatrix, Jeanne Kirkpatrick.

After prepping her former Boss, Reno, Gorelick's "recusal" from questioning her was still another lie because slippery jamie handed her questions to Slade Gorton, who then asked Reno Gorelick's questions. Slime personified.

(Scary how Reno, even after being prepped, still rambled.)

Indeed. But it turns out Gorelick was actually running Justice, right?
I now have a full-blown headache.

Interesting--that implies Clinton was considering her as an alternative to Anthony Lake:

Anthony Lake: Security Risk for CIA, The New American, Vol. 13, No. 02, January 20, 1997

". . .President Clinton's nomination of Anthony Lake on December 3rd. . ."

This Gore-Lick skank is a DANGER to the USA!

I
In May 1995, the Washington Post reported,
"Deputy Attorney General Jamie S. Gorelick yesterday said the Clinton administration planned to drop its proposal to give the president absolute power to designate groups as terrorist organizations." In her testimony before the House Judiciary Subcommittee on Crime Gorelick said, "We will recommend deletion of the assertions in that bill that the president's designations are unreviewable or conclusive."

Gorelick told reporters at the time that criticism from civil liberties groups convinced administration officials that the ban on court challenges was not necessary.

II
Freeh wrote an op-ed piece where he points out that in September 1994, he "recommended to Deputy Attorney General Jamie Gorelick that the DoJ strengthen investigative powers against suspected 'undesirable aliens,' He also recommended that we include provisions for the detention and removal of undesirable aliens, under a special, closed-court procedure."

None of his recommendations to Gorelick were acted upon.

III
Deputy attorney general (Gorelick) was assigned to Clinton's Citizenship USA program. Former Justice Department investigator David Schippers wrote in his 1999 book, "Sell Out" that it was Gorelick's task to expedite new rules under which criminal background checks were suspended for new immigrants.

Therefore, I say forget her being a 'witness', she should be an inmate at 'club FED'!
