Gorelick Caught In Lie - Gorelick Claims She Did Not Author or Sign the Memo That Bears Her Name and Initials.
When asked specifically by CNN's Wolf Blitzer if she wrote the "memorandum in '95 that helped establish the so-called walls between the FBI and CIA," Gorelick distanced herself from the matter:
"No, and again, I would refer you back to what others on the commission have said. The wall was a creature of statute. It's existed since the mid 1980s. And while it's too lengthy to go into, basically the policy that was put out in the mid-nineties, which I didn't sign, wasn't my policy by the way, it was the attorney general's policy, was ratified by Attorney General Ashcroft's deputy as well in August of 2001. So we are just going to move on from this. This is not a basis for resignation."

Your honor, I merely shot the person in question, I didn't kill him. According to the autopsy report, it was the severed artery that caused massive bleeding which lead to the person's death.
Friggin' lawyers... What's the point of initializing something if it doesn't mean anything?

She will resign and the calls for her to be a witness will prevail. I'd like to believe that, but so far I've seen no mention of this story in the mainstream TV media.
Has anyone seen this covered at all by the Big 3?

She just lied about it. The pdf pictures of the "wall" memo show that it is from her and she initialled it. I didn't check but an initial is not a signature. Remember, she worked for WJC.

Folks, if we can't get Republican leadership support for THIS - it's over. This one is a no-brainer and a piece of cake. The fact she was IN the Clinton administration Justice dept is enough reason by itself for her to have never even been allowed to be on the commission in the first place.
This memo is the smoking gun - she can't lie her way out of it. All we can do, I guess, is continue to harrass everyone we can find, protest and try to muck up the works best we can and try to keep this in the news. I'm spitting mad over it but feel quite disgusted and helpless.

I agree that tacking on Gorelick's talking point is misplaced. Kelly should know better, it's not a complex thought process simply because it deals with "conflict of interest."
Some commissioners worked in the Legislature, and one, Jim Thompson, is a former Gov. of Illinois who is now member of a firm defending American Airlines. The legislators, as Sensenbrenner pointed out, were one voice in a 100 (Senate) and one in over 400 (house) - their participation in security and intelligence policy is clearly of a different flavor and magnitude than Gorelick's. And Gorelick's firm defends the House of Saud against a suit brought by 600 victims of 9/11. That is more closely on par with Thompson's firm defending AA, but her participation in setting government policy makes her conflict magnitudes more significant than any tangential conflict created by clients of their respective law firms.
We can't let this be swept under the rug. People like Kelly deserve heat and a crash course in understanding why Gorelick's conflict demands that she resign while any other commissioner's conflict does not, at least according to information available to date.

Sure Zip!
"Peace in our Time" was the famous quote from Neville Chamberlain, the English Prime Minister before WWII. He made this quote after returning from a meeting with Hitler. Hitler "promised" to stop being aggresive (I believe the talks concerned the Sudetenland). Shortly after this statement, Hitler invaded anyway.
The statement has become synomymous with appeasement.

Good points, however it all just emphasizes the need to have Gorelick on the other side of the table. She's not sounding like a commissioner in the CNN interview--she sounds like a witness.
She has a tough choice to make--remain on the commission and nullify its already fading credibility, or honorably resign as a conflict of interest matter and get on the schedule to testify. I won't hold my breath waiting for the latter to happen.

It is unbelievable how stupid the 'Rats think we are, that we're just going to "overlook " this " so-called minor detail". Shheeeesh! The tragedy is that the media WILL NOT pick up on anything remotely resembling dimocRat lies. Sad but true.
Be prepared for a totally biased, leftist, anti Bush report that will be used to try to destroy the President. All of the alphabet channels and the leftist print media will have a field day with the report. Guaranteed!!!!!

Exactly. I forgot that she studied Clinton-speak from the Master himself.

Yeh, I'm sure that's what it will be. I pray the American people have been able to see through the lies and deliberate twisting of the so called "commission" and won't be fooled by yet another round of Bush bashing by the left.
I also think Clinton is heavily involved in this latest tactic. It seems to me, to be an attempt at revisionist history- as to who holds most of the responsibilities for the intelligence failure's that led to 9/11. Hopefully the revelations in the Gorelick memo will thwart the attempt

Has anyone seen this covered at all by the Big 3?Well MSNBC is definitely not in the Big 3, but Chrissie Matthews had Sessenburger (spelling?) on last night. I never watch the Big 3.
