Yeah, as though what Pardek proposes isn't ten times more cruel than the Greenpeace allegations....sheesh.

These beings are horrible that do this. I will not even call them human. I'm a christian and I think that I don't care if they go to hell! It's hard for me to say that. Sorry. They have no right to kill these defenseless(sp) cratures. LEAVE THEM ALONE! Get another job! EAT SPAM! SHAME ON THEM! I don't believe that God honors this act.

Ecclesiastes Ch. 3 v. 18-22:

And then I realized that God is letting the world go on its sinful way so that he can test mankind, and so that men will see that they are no better than beasts. For men and animals both breathe the same air, and both die. So mankind has no real advantage over the beasts; what an absurdity! All go to one place- the dust from which they came and to which they must return. For who can prove that the spirit of a man goes upward and the spirit of animals goes downward into dust?

Ya' know, when it comes to LONG CUT, you should think about who you are talking to.

This man proudly serves his country EVERY DAY, while being separated from his wife (Mrs Cut) and very YOUNG SON (Short cut)!
As a matter of fact, just the other day he was contemplating what kind of TOY GUN to get for his little one who is not even old enough to do anything but drool one it! Sound like a raging liberal to me!
He is a TRUE conservative who promotes conservative causes daily as he surfs FR!
Check your facts...
Defending the HUMANE killing of animals does NOT mean that one disapproves of the killing entirely.

Why would you WANT to kill anything in a way that made it suffer....
BTW...I also don't promote burning ants with a magnifying glass or pulling the wings off of flies...just SLAP 'EM and get it over with!

Hey - that moron said that his god proclaimed we may use these beasts - or is there more to how humans treat mammals...?

Exactly. We all know 12-day old seals haven't yet reached the age of consent... ;-)

That do what?

Did you say 'eat spam!"? Have you ever been to a hog slaughter? A commercial hog farm?

But, I guess since seals are so cute and hogs are unsightly, that's just fine with you. I see.

My point boils down to this:

"puts logic above popularity"

"Personally, I am no big fan of the hunt, but I don't really care either way."

I cannot say that. Some things simply offend my sense of common decency and honor.

"What rankles me is hobby environmentalist that jumps upon a "popular" issue. Save the seals.. Save the whales... Ohh, they are sooo cute.. "

I am an Antisubmarine Warfare operator. I have spent countless hours listening to whales sing their songs over hundreds of miles. I've heard them call out, and recieve replies. Perhaps I'm biased, but I can find nothing in their killing to support. They are magnificent animals who never meant humans any harm, and do not feed or clothe us. Why kill them? Why stain our souls that way?

"There is a whole lot of suffering among the domesticated animals that we carnivours enjoy every day.

"If you were a vegan, I'd take your criticism serously"

I am not. As I said, we breed those animals specifically for our use. Few if any domesticated cattle, pork, or chickens could survive long in the wild, because we have bred them that way. Also, we make effort to be humane to them while they are alive. Moreso, obviously, than we do for the seals and whales, whom we DO NOT breed, and one of which species we came very near to wiping out.

If, however, you deign to ignore me based on that, I understand. Just think a little.

Just a little attempt at humor...

Personally, I can't get too worked up about the killing of some seals. It just seems totally inconsequential relative to other events.

Salut!

I could not have said it better. And your 'little attempt at humor' is quite welcome. I did in fact LOL.
