Now that Rush has given Specter a 15 minute nationwide forum, will he offer Toomey equal time on his program? Where were the hard-ball question from Rush?

(A) It was just off the top of my head.
(B) I don't forget, when there's been no repentance. I think that a Senator should be held to his votes. If he wants to say, "I made a mistake," that's one thing. But every time I see Bork, I think, "That man should have been on the Supreme Court." And every time I see or think of Leahy, Heflin, Metzenbaum, Biden... or Specter, I think, "Shame."
You don't?

I just think that, given the length of time Rush had for the interview (He didn't hype this, did he? I think he was caught off-guard.) that it would have been ancient history to bring up Bork (Reagan) or Anita Hill (Bush I). Furthermore, it would have distracted from the topic at hand. Arlen could rewrite history to favor himself, most people have forgotten the details.
That line of argument would have made for a bad interview.
To: AmishDude
Like I said, it was off the top of my head. I would have done it. He should not be allowed to live down Bork, as long as he stands by his disgraceful decision.
But fine: he could have talked about Spectre's pro-abort extremism, about his tearing down Bush's tax cut, about all sorts of more current things.

Dan, have you moved to PA? Or is it just Christian charity that makes you so eager to help Toomey?
:-) Every Republican I know is voting for Toomey.

No, not that I wouldn't like to.
Oh, I've had a burr under my saddle for Spectre ever since Bork, seriously. I am even considering sending money (I don't have to send) to Toomey, I'd so love to see Spectre booted.
I don't hold it against you that you were probably still in Doctor Dentons when Bork happened. (c;

"Now that Rush has given Specter a 15 minute nationwide forum..."Rush should have known better. He probably just handed Specter the nomination. If I was on the Toomey staff, I would be asking for equal time.

The thing is, I'm too young to remember the Bork hearings. It was that long ago. In theory, since he was re-elected since that occured, Pennsylvanians don't mind that. In theory, Toomey has to use Specter's record from the last 5.5 years.
Rush still should have asked at least one confrontational question, though.

Soros knows SPECTRE is bought and paid for, and his huevos are in Hillary's 900 FBI file lockbox.
Toomey needs to get on the phone to Rush and demand equal time. Plus he needs to quit pussyfootin' about Specter's lap dances for Soros, and lay it all out about how Arlen has sold the entire party out.
To: BibChr
I have never voted for Specter. Last time he ran, I was in high school.
Dunno about my parents, but they're certainly voting Toomey this time. Go Pat Go.

He did link a WSJ article that was reprinted on toomey.org
I certainly hope a FReeper involved with his glorious campaign calls EIB and gets him on for Equal Time. We all know what direction Limbaugh would like the GOP to go to, and Spect(R) ain't it.

Rush now has to give Toomey equal time and I'll bet money that hey will. Here is the reason:
The Dems are after Rush's program, claiming it is nothing but a 100% political Rep announcement. If this ever goes to court, this could be an example of biased political favoritism, even though it is within the same party.
On the other hand, this is Rush's show. The Dems are failing with theirs having cancelled two markets within 2 weeks.
So, after all I just said, I'm not sure now.

Think of yourself as a shaman, passing down the wisdom of the tribe.
Anyway, people who can vote today don't remember the Anita Hill hearings, which were very vivid for me -- it was during college.
To: JenB; BibChr
Make Dan feel old. Tell him what you remember (if anything) of the Anita Hill hearings.

The Dems are after Rush's program, claiming it is nothing but a 100% political Rep announcement. Rush can be as biased or unfair as he wants.. The Fairness Doctrine is long kaput.

Um. Er. I was homeschooled. Mom didn't let me listen to smutty stuff.
Er, I was too young/sheltered to know what the Monica Lewinsky stuff was about...
When was Anita Hill, anyway?

Right. So I'd have been all of 8. Not paying much attention to politics yet.
And... we hadn't moved to PA yet, so no way can we be held responsible for Spector.
