The complaint and petition for injunction is filing in New York, not Chicago or LA. Unless the holding companies that are parties to the contract are New York based companies, or the contracts stipulate New York jurisdiction, both of which are possible but doubtful, New York courts won't have jurisdiction over the alleged defendants. They also hired a Houston lawyer (who isn't licensed in New York) as one of their attorneys in the action. Add all that to the fact that nothing in the complaint is verified (i.e., under oath), though that may not be required in New York. This sounds like a publicity stunt.
