'I HAVE GIVEN it as my decided opinion that no nation had a right to intermeddle in the internal concerns of another; that everyone has a right to form and adopt whatever government they liked best to live under themselves," said George Washington, the first U.S. president. Well, most Iraqis did not like living under the brutal dictatorship of that sadistic goofball Saddam Hussein. But they don't seem to lean toward our Western idea of "democracy" either.

Your subhead makes no sense and is misleading vis a vis the tone of the article.

"In America, there is too much freedom. It's better over there - more control!" Where have I heard this before - oh yeah!
"When we got organized as a country and we wrote a fairly radical Constitution with a radical Bill of Rights, giving a radical amount of individual freedom to Americans... And so a lot of people say there's too much personal freedom. When personal freedom's being abused, you have to move to limit it. That's what we did in the announcement I made last weekend on the public housing projects, about how we're going to have weapon sweeps and more things like that to try to make people safer in their communities."

I must be out of the loop as I've never heard of this publication, website...whatever. It's Pat Buchanan's latest offering.

The publication also offers a Justin Raimondo defense of terrorism czar/whistle-blower Richard ClarkeThe far left and the far right have both gone so far around the bend that they've met on the other side of the sun.

Liz Smith is one brain-addled old lesbian...but I don't see where she's "embracing the burka" here.

I don't know where she gets that idea. There are 5 MILLION Iraqi people in Baghdad itself...and only approx 130,000 Coalition troops throughout the entire country of Iraq.
If the majority of people honestly wanted us out our troops wouldn't last 5 minutes.

Didn't President Bush mention something about those who don't think Muslims or people with brown skin want democracy and freedom?

Isn't this cute. Saddam was a "goofball".
Wow, that madcap Saddam and his comical chemical weapons, and plastic shredders. Maybe we should get him out of prison so he can host Saturday Night Live.
Republicans are evil personified, but Saddam is a "goofball".
This woman should be chained to a chair in the main square of Baghdad, surrounded by the relatives and survivors of the Hussein regime, and be made to watch the videos of Saddam's torture rooms.

Liz doesn't care. She's nothing but a gossip columnist who gets her information from the Hollywood leftists.
