That kind of a remark is outrageous. If said by a conservative of a black serving a Democratic president, the remark would be grounds for a public pillorying that would not let up until the malfactor was hounded from office and/or the public airwaves.

Just once, I'd like to see the black civil rights leaders and feminists stand up and go after the purveyor of such racist anti-feminist remarks. It could even go like this:

We disagree with almost every position that Dr. Rice has taken on matters of public policy. However, we will not stand idlely by while those who disagree with her attempt to demean her. Like her views or not, she is a highly accomplished black woman who has succeded in being appointed to one of the highest positions of responsibility ever held by a black in America. Racism is racism whoever displays it, and demeaning remarks about women are demeaning remarks, whoever makes them. Mr. Matthews should not be fouling the public airwaves at the very least until he publicly and abjectly apologizes for his racist and demeaning remarks!

WOW! We need a Freeper Team that starts sending the heads of the networks an email when these morons pull this crap. We need to let them know we are protesting their stations and will start boycotting their sponsors if things don't change.

Only way to deal with these leftists is to hit them in their pocketbooks.

I called NBC at 202-885-4200 (DC office) and got transferred to Chris Matthews office. I started complaining and the guy cut me off and told me to call MSNBC. He said this is NBC. I told him, "oh David Gregory is a bias jerk too".

So I called MSNBC at 201-583-5000 to complain.

I've only been able to get hold of a viewer comment line. I've called three times and have told the guy I will call all day until I get through to a real person.

I also saw Matthews say that about Condi, and I switched the channel. It's best to watch this on C-Span. How does Matthews have ratings? BTY, Howard Fineman's hair is dyed too dark.

If Mr. Mathews start saying things like Condoleeza Rice is "Bush's butler," that tells me way too many volumes about just how blatantly racist the Left has become.

Between this and the recent Doonesbury strip, this is definitely more good reason NOT to support the Democrats this coming Presidential election.

Was that Chris Donahue on MSNBC or was it Phil Matthews? I can't tell their ratings apart.

Senator Chris Matthews should resign from the US Senate.

No, wait, he's just a wannabe Senator.

Seriously, why does race have to be part of this gaff? There are caucasian butlers.

Can't wait to see if Chris Mathews takes heat for this!!

Add this to the Dodd "Grand Kleagle Byrd never made a wrong decision in his life" speech, and you have some more crystal clear evidence of the liberal bias of the media.

Chris Matthews is a liberal lapdog, and Clinton/Kennedy/Kerry rumpswab of the first order. And I say that advisedly!! LOLOL!

Did you happen to notice if Waschovia was still advertising on Hardball? I have been in discussions with them about this and they promised to monitor the show for content.

dems(not capitolised on purpose) can get away with racist statements. Republicans cannot get away with anything that might look like a racist statement. The double standard strikes again!!!!

MSDNC is looking for someone less partisan to take Mathews' place. So far McCaulif and Carville turned them down. Imagine if Rush said this!!

Liberals are allowed to use racial charged commentary, don't ya know?.....(sarcasm).

If they aren't going to call Chris Dodd on it, let alone Bobby KKK Byrd, this should come as know surprise.
