Ashcroft has just declassified a memo Gorelock wrote when Deputy Attorney General under Clinton. The memo placed burdens on intel agencies sharing information; that burden is generally referred to as the wall.

Of course Bent veniste is using the word deliberately to avoid laying blame on a human agent. After all, according to the left we should not be attacking those wonderful mohammedans because they have nothing to do with the "catastrophe".

Reno had testified that there were no administrative walls put up between the CIA and the FBI in sharing information beyond what was codified by law.
Ashcroft said he had a memo declassified. He read the memo. It detailed restrictions above and beyond the letter of the law for preventing the FBI from using information gathered by the CIA and vice-versa. He added that the memo was written by a member of the 9/11 commission-- Jamie Gorelick.
