One of the last times I truly dressed up for Easter church services. Check out those hats and gloves.

Flipped skirts and popped bras, but not a Klintoon in sight!

Oddly enough, by the time we graduated from 8th grade, the boys were all scared of the girls. Some of the worst offenders grew up to be very meek husbands. LoL - they deserve it!

Know what you mean about the crotch of the leotards slipping down. I always wondered why the panties weren't worn over the leotards to help hold them in place instead of underneath so the darn things pulled everything down.

They deserved to be very meek or they deserved to be husbands?

We had the fingertip rule - which seems really short to me now, but didn't then.

And I remember how I loved Tuesdays, when I wore my Girl Scout uniform - it wasn't flippable!

"Oh my, you are a woman. You are not a man."

The number of folks around here that like to use the
'woman' insult is really amazing. Can you think of nothing better than an attempted assault on my manhood - how really sad. If you can't think of anything else - use the old 'sexuality' insult. A really worn out course of action & indication of limited mentality and maturity. When you leave the schoolyard - come visit.

I went to Catholic school in a tiny little town in Michigan and they did not have uniforms until after we moved away. We DID have to wear skirts or dresses and were allowed to put pants on during winter recess. Snow pants if need be, or just stretch pants.

I did get scolded by Sister one day for wearing a navy blue skirt that was suddenly too short.

Underpants may be optional if one is in bed, married and with one's spouse. Single, maiden girls {my daughters prior to marriage} were encouraged to maintain underpants on in sleep as you never knew when a fire would occur. My mother and grandmother always wore them to bed just in case of fire. If one is in ill health and liable to be taken to the hospital, one wears underpants at all times, always clean and in good repair. If one is near death, underpants are mandatory. Afterwards, optional although recommended in the deep south. Eastern women rarely wear them in death.

They let us wear pants under our skirts if it was really cold, but since it was Florida, it didn't happen too often.
Often enough that I remember frost on the hilly playground, and how we would sit down on it and slide down the icy hill - on the seats of our underpants.
