It seems to me that it is prudent to ask for Ben-Vensite to be removed from 9/11 commission.
Dim partisans can argue whether he did or did not mean to make partisan point when questionning Dr. Condoleezza Rice about the PDB document. But there could be no doubt that it appeared as such. Considering the significance of the Commission it provides enough threat to its integrity for Ben-Veniste to be removed.

I am going to write a letter to the chair. I hope others will do it too.

While I agree that Ben the lackey should be removed, you must know this isn't going to happen. There is no question about the partisan nature of the entire circus going on there, but that is how it was meant to be.

I suggest appointing Newt, Col Oliver North, Bob Dole, Governor Ventura, James Baker, Michael Savage, and Mrs. G.H.W. Bush to the "Commission"

I'm guessing that the Pubbies and White House didn't object to having a bunch of partisan hacks, plus Cosmic Kerrey, named to the 9/11 Commission because these characters provide due cause for the administration to dismiss the findings (blame) and recommendations if they don't them.
It's a calculated risk - hoping public will see these hacks for what they are, while garnering sympathy for the White House.
I would like to know more about the process by which the Commissioners were named. How many were named by the White House, how many by Congress, and were each party's picks subject to approval by the opposition?

But I think that it is time to make an issue out of this. I doubt that they will remove him, but the need to explain why their are not removing him will will be good enough (and I hope that we can press the issue to that level).

Check out BoB Kerrey's rant in the NY SLimes and see if there's anything in there to go with your article...

I agree with you - make an issue of Ben-Veniste right now and force the Dems and the Commission to defend him - he won't be removed, but then the issue is there and reinforces my point.
If I hear one more time Feinstein on Larry King talking about how "collegial" and "bipartisan" this commission is . . .
