If someone is seen carrying a weapon and is not readily identifiable as a member of the Iraqi Police he is then a hostile combatant and should be treated as such.

Your comment has been rattling around in the back of my head for quite some time, slightly modified.

Anyone carrying an RPG round or launcher is de facto the enemy and deserves to be terminated. Period. End of discussion.

And as for wholesale levelling of Fallujah...you're quite right. We are taking out the enemy right now without slaughtering civilians. I won't call them innocents, but they are non-combatants and as such deserve some sort of mercy. I guess that's just our 'good guys in white hats' way of doing things.

They don't deserve the mercy that we give, but as you say, that's our "white hat" way of doing things, and I wouldn't want to change into a black hat. The troops will come home someday, and they'll need to be proud of, not haunted by, what they do over there. So they don't get the mercy because they deserve it, but rather because we deserve and must give it to them in order to remain who we are.

It is time that you think rationally as well as calm down a bit to allow you to see things clearly.

We are all very much angered by what is happening there, but the solution is not just a simple matter of blowing the he// out of everything in retaliation.

It is a complicated situation because the Muslim propaganda machine is their primary weapon in all of this.

Have you noticed how they do not wear uniforms? They wear civilian clothing. When we retaliate and kill them, they quickly take the AK-47 or RPG out of their dead hands, remove the head cover, make them look all too innocent, then Aljazeera moves in with their cameras and films the brutal "murder" of these innocent "civilians" by the "Wicked" USA military. The Arab media will play the film for weeks over and over all throughout the entire Middle East and the Clerics will stir up more extreme hatred in the Mosques as well.

Our leaders like Bremer are all too familiar with this scenario and are up against one of the most sinister and morally corrupt societies in the history of the world. Instead of such condemnation of our leaders as people like yourself continually project, try understanding what they are up against instead. It's easy for you to address this situation from your keyboard as well as pontificate all the answers, but it's another thing to actually be the ones like Bremmer, Rumsfeld and the President who are faced with making the decisions under such a difficult situation. So, in short, cut your rhetoric a bit and give them the respect that they so graciously deserve.

The second pic down, is that a 155mm Paladin patroling the street with infantry - I think so; interesting... what a nice (direct fire) assault gun!? or any armor is better than none?
