Please pray for a friend in Iraq
Self
Posted on 04/11/2004 10:59:10 AM PDT by arjay
I learned at church today that one of our deacons in Iraq is very deeply involved with the events in Fallujah.
His mission is secret, so I cannot give more details, but his wife is pretty concerned. She served in Gulf I and knows what things are like.
I simply ask for your prayers for him and for all our troops over there. I told her that I would post this and she was pleased to know you will be praying for her husband.
This war is touching more and more of us on FR in personal ways. I pray for those on this group who have loved ones involved in this war. Thank you for your sacrifice.
I am very grateful to have such a group of people as this with whom I can share my love of God and country.

I lift him up to the Lord. He belongs to God; and our God is a God of hope, and faith and love. I pray for this man and his family, Father - may Your hand shield him and keep him safe. In Jesus name...

I have a pastor friend there right now that I pray for regularly...I will add your friend to these prayers.
To: arjay
May God cover him and his fellow soldiers with the blessings of His protection, and grant them victory in battle.

Would it be too much for his name? (So he can be added to the prayer lists, etc.)

I would like to give his name, but I was asked not to do so. You might just call him Richard's friend. I just got an email from him and he has moved elsewhere in the country and I don't really know where.
I appreciate everyone's prayers.

There's always the possiblity that he and I could share a cup of coffee at the DFAC one day. I'm never far away if he needs a friend.

Heavenly Father, we return to give You thanks that America's finest and bravest continue to step forward to serve God and country. We covet the safety of all of our sons and daughters, for while their mission is just, the danger is extraordinary. Surround each one with Your shield of protection ... give each one wisdom beyond measure ... and may they rejoice in the liberty of an oppressed people their service has granted.
Look with mercy upon RJ's friend ... keep him from all harm and return him safely to his beloved wife and to his church family. May his walk with You as Deacon be a means to encourage his comrades and to advance the Gospel of Jesus Christ ... may the prayers of those who love him soften the hearts of those who do not know You, for the harvest is ready but the laborers are few. Glorify Your Name, dear Lord, for Jesus sake, Amen ...
