CNN) -- The White House has released part of a key intelligence report on Osama Bin Laden that says the head of al Qaeda had been determined to conduct terror attacks in the United States since 1997. CNN's Carol Lin talked to senior political analyst Bill Schneider about the implications of the memo's contents.

We have not been able to corroborate some of the more sensational threat reporting, such as that from a [deleted text] service in 1998 saying that Bin Ladin wanted to hijack a US aircraft to gain the release of "Blind Shaykh" 'Umar' Abd aI-Rahman and other US-held extremists.

O.K.
Ben Laden wanted to attack the US. Should have gone after him just because he wanted to.
Saddam wanted to acquired weapons of mass distruction and use them against the US and its interests. Should not have gone after him just because he just wanted to.

I printed off a couple of those pictures, and put them in
the windows of my vehicle, and the other day a
hippy/mother earth/save the whales/don't eat meat looking chick
drove up next to me and was flipping me off with both hands....
After she passed me, I noticed she had a Gore/Loserman bumper sticker
next to a Bill McBribe bumper sticker.....I was laughing so hard I almost _ _ _ _.

I couldn't hold it in so I wrote them:
I just read Bill Schneider's comments in the cnn.com story, "Schneider: Memo 'could be seriously damaging'." You actually use this guy as an analyst? I read the memo. It says none of the things Schneider says it does in his total mischaracterization of its contents. He's either a partisan liar or a partisan idiot. I believe he is the former. This is poor analysis and poor journalism. Whatever happened to intellectual honesty at CNN? Oops. Never mind. It was never there.

I sent them an email too; stating if this is their "expert analyst" they need to hire a new expert.

What this says is, the White House knew what bin Laden was capable of planning... So why didn't your guy Clinton extradite Bin Laden when he was offered up on a silver plater during the previous administration, Mr. Presstitute?

``It's just going to harden opinion on both sides,'' said Larry Sabato, director of the Center for Politics at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville. ``There's enough in there for the anti-Bush forces to hang their hat on and there's also enough to support what Rice said.''
Sabato said the briefing, which is one-and-a-half pages long, was too short to have much of an impact on the president, although ``in hindsight he would have declared a national emergency.''
``We already knew that our government and its agencies didn't do enough to prevent Sept. 11, we all knew that,'' Sabato said. ``We also know hindsight is 20/20.''

Al Gore was in charge of doing an investigation on airline security. He omitted a serious critical report by one of the people on the panel to please the airline industry and then got a nice political donation. Tell me how so many planes got highjacked on one day. In a word Clinton/Gore. They were on the take the entire time they were in office. Just how did the Clintons go into the White House broke and come out rich?

"There was only one thing missing, which was exactly when he was going to do it, which turns out to be September 11."When? Ah, yes, WHEN..... If they would listen to their own broadcasts, they would have remembered the part about UBL where they stated that he planned his attacks far in advance. Far in advance doesn't mean in four weeks from now.

The Democrats have been way, way beyond feckless.
The Democrats have been perfidious.

Schneider must think none of us are capable of reading what the Aug 6 briefing REALLY says.At last we know the Democratic strategy for winning the White House.
Appeal to people who can't read.

The memo narrowed it down to, say, 10,000,000 possible times/targets! Certainly it was GB's fault that he did not take this memo to Madam Futuro, the Gypsy Fortune Teller and have Dick Clarke's palm read to find out where the attack was coming!
