CNN) -- The White House has released part of a key intelligence report on Osama Bin Laden that says the head of al Qaeda had been determined to conduct terror attacks in the United States since 1997. CNN's Carol Lin talked to senior political analyst Bill Schneider about the implications of the memo's contents.

Newspapers spew this venom on the editorial and op-ed pages. Tv presents these biased opinions as fact, then have the gall to run a poll on their website that is skewed by there biased reporting. No doubt they will report the results of this poll tomorrow as news.

Rush summarized it best on Friday. This is just going to go on and on, its not going to stop, the Democratic plan is to make as many ignorant people believe that Bush himself was flying those planes in the WTC. The media is complicit in this, and unfortunately, the WH PR strategy is not good. This memo is out, Bush should be addressesing the nation directly next week to make the record clear.

head of al Qaeda had been determined to conduct terror attacks in the United States since 1997. A couple of points;
- Why didn't Clinton ask for such a report in 1997, 1998, 1999, or 2000?
- Why did Clinton do about al Qaeda in 1997, 1998, 1999, or 2000?
Combined with the claim that that it was Clinton "fly swarding" in 1998 that precipitated the 9-11 attack I would say the Clintonistas come off pretty bad.
The interesting testimony will be regarding the 70 ongoing investigations.

the cable news stations mean next to nothing - their ratings are too low. Its the major networks and newspapers that have the most reach, its what they report they makes a difference. A jerk like Chris Matthews has perhaps 200,000 viewers, he's not a factor in shaping public opinion.

Gosh, it would have been so simple! All the Whitehouse had to do was order civil aviation grounded in August of 2001, and ordered the arrest of all foreign-born muslims between the ages of 15 and 50! I'm SURE that CNN would have applauded those moves.

As I say, just about everything that happened in broad outline is in this memo, the only thing missing is that it would happen on September 11. I hope the memo said to beef-up security at the airport in Boston. Kerry was warned about security problems there. And I hope Kerry told the White House about the security problem..
DAY OF INFAMY 2001 Official: Kerry failed to act on pre-9/11 tip
3rd agent to say he warned security lapses made Boston airport ripe for 'jihad' attack. [excerpt]
WASHINGTON A third federal aviation-security agent, one still with the government, has stepped forward to say he also warned Massachusetts Sen. John Kerry about security lapses at Boston's Logan International Airport before the 9-11 hijackings there. Earlier this week, two former FAA agents said the Democratic presidential hopeful failed to take effective action after they gave him a prophetic warning that his home airport was vulnerable to multiple hijackings.

SCHNEIDER: I think it could be seriously damaging. What this says is, the White House knew what bin Laden was capable of planning, where he intended to do it, which was New York or Washington, D.C., how he was going to do it. There was only one thing missing, which was exactly when he was going to do it, which turns out to be September 11.

It is exactly as Dr. Rice stated it.Which leads the DNC to frustration and at the same time leads me, and I'm sure others, to a level of pride and elation that is very comforting.

It is exactly as Dr. Rice stated it. There is a clear threat from bin Laden, but there is nothing in the report that specifically says when, where, how, or who would attack us.
Schneider is totally wrong. It mentioned explosives, but not aircraft used as missiles to bring down buildings. It mentions a hijack in order to release the blind sheik, which suggests some kind of hostage trade. It also mentions LA and refers indirectly to Seattle. It also indicates a strong overseas risk to embassies.

Schneider must think none of us are capable of reading what the Aug 6 briefing REALLY says.
Of course I hope CNN fools their kool-aid drinking viewers into believing this is a real gotcha moment for Bush, just so they can once again be disappointed when nothing comes of it.
Just like the Enron scandal was supposed to bring Bush down, until it turned out there was NOTHING to the left's accusations and it just fizzled away.
These people are so obsessed with their hatred of Bush they are incapable of making rational judgments and keep running into dea ends.

Got that right. Schneider really is lying through his lengthening yellow teeth here. The memo said no such thing as this.
No surprise, though, as Schneider has been a democrap suckup for his whole career, whole life, apparently.
To: KQQL
I heard the memo quotes Bin Laden as targeting American cities because Bill Clinton attacked his camps in 1998.

Did these idiots read the same memo I did? Does it matter? It doesn't make any difference what the memo says - only what the media says the memo says.
