What? ROFLMAO.........
Well, here's what the AP said:
White House Releasing Bush's 2001 Brief
By JOHN SOLOMON, Associated Press Writer
WASHINGTON - President Bush (news - web sites)'s August 2001 briefing on terror threats included information that federal agents were investigating reports three months earlier about a possible plot on U.S. soil. The White House expected to release the document around 6:15 EDT Saturday, a historic disclosure of presidential intelligence briefing materials.
The document also states that al-Qaida leader Osama bin Laden (news - web sites)'s desire to strike inside America surfaced as long as four years before Bush took office, according to several people who have seen the memo.
The rest is here

What were gorelick and the other fools that saw it think they were doing? How'd they think that villifying it would work?
I suppose they MUST have thought only the title would come out.

so why would they do it? Its simple. Condi painted Ben Veniste into a corner and he attacked without thinking. If the hearing was karate you would have seen her flip him to the ground.
From my memory, he launched on her the existence of the document and wanted her to name it. His plan was to throw her off guard, she would simply state the title and he would move on having successfully skewered her. One small problem, she didn't cooperate. She not only gave him the background on it she flipped him by stating she was surprised he was asking because she believed he himself had seen the document.
To recover and to attempt to keep his adversarial upper hand he demanded release of the document implying that there was damaging information. He went for the short term gain in there tit-a-tat while Condi went for decking him later.
If you didn't know how to watch (which the press doesn't) you would have missed her moves.

I would not want to play poke with Dubya. I know he would clean my clock just like he is doing to the dems.

My guess is that Schnider has not even read the memo yet, and was just reading his DNC talking points.

BEN VINESTE LIED, THAT DIRTY ROTTEN SOB! Of course he lied. The Left are all liars. They have always said that they must lie to stay in control, which is of course true. But the truth will set US free.

Remember the date: August 6! Just over one month before 9/11. Don't forget all the 1997, 1998 stuff in the memo. And who, pray tell, was on duty then? Clinton.
First of all, Bush is the one who asked for the memo. This shows that, yes, he was on top of things. Second, the document the released along with the PDB says that there were directives given to different agencies following the President's receipt of the memo. Gosh, what else could he have done?

Unfortunately the Senate won't be in session all week, there could have been some great fireworks with all the distortions(to be charitable) the commisioners were spinning on the PDB. :(

I don't know...I hit the remote when Schneider started repeating himself.

Gorelick and Ben Veniste should be removed from the commission. They probably aren't the only ones, but that would be a good start. Gorelick should be one of those being put in the hot seat, quite frankly, as she was there during the 'feckless' Clinton administration.

Have you heard the CNN spin? Man, what planet a re they on as usual! The important thing to me in the PDB is since '1997'

Be sure to read the entire first question -- HE ASKED TWO QUESTIONS, and then pretended it was one...
BEN-VENISTE: Isn't it a fact, Dr. Rice, that the August 6th PDB warned against possible attacks in this country? And I ask you whether you recall the title of that PDB?
RICE: I believe the title was, "Bin Laden Determined to Attack Inside the United States." Now, the...
BEN-VENISTE: Thank you.
RICE: No, Mr. Ben-Veniste...
BEN-VENISTE: I will get into the...
RICE: I would like to finish my point here.
BEN-VENISTE: I didn't know there was a point.
RICE: Given that -- you asked me whether or not it warned of attacks.
BEN-VENISTE: I asked you what the title was.

Thanks for the AP link. I sure need it after hearing Schneider.

Micheal Corleone warned the Democrats:
"Never hate your enemy, it clouds your judgment."
I guess the dems missed the movie.

I still can't understand how someone who was part of the Clinton administration can be on the panel. The Clinton administration is being questioned. Gorelick was the deputy attorney general. Surely, she knew of the various actions or non-actions taken regarding terrorism. She also worked as counsel at the DOD.
Let's see, what do you think would have happened if Louie Freeh or John Ashcroft were appointed to the committee?
To: freedom4me
And who, pray tell, was on duty then? Clinton. And Richard Clarke.
