We need to start a "Dump Rita" campaign. Let's encourage Uncle Roger to can her and her precious sources. Although she may be a good investigative reporter, she is NOT on-air material. Ugh.

CNN says it's exactly like Dick Clarke's testimony.

Oh, Dear Gawd, I don't have time for politics today....

YES that oozing, smarmy Ben-Veniste LIED. What a sorry excuse for a human being he is !!!! He knew the truth, Condi told him in front of the world that he knew the truth of what the PDB contained. Furthermore, he even acknowledged that he knew the substance of it while he pretended that he just wanted to get the title of the "bombshell" PDB in the official record because he knew the title was so danged misleading. That was his best and only shot at dirtying up either Condi or the press so he played it knowing full well the MSM would jump on it and so would some of the public wouldn't bother to look further than the sound byte. Especially heading into a long holiday weekend. He knew there wasn't any damaging information inside. A typical lawyering trick.

DU:How do we know the document they're releasing is the same document that landed on or near Bush's desk that day, August 6, 2001?

Yeah, I knew that was coming.

William Schneider said the memo proves Clarke was right and that the President had all the information to prevent an attack...except the date.

Really.

I have a real question here: If the committee knew what was in the PDB, and there is no smoking gun, and it stood to be de-classified, why would they demand it be released as if it would sink the administration? There's no smoking gun, so why would they do it?

They care more about politics (POWER!, GOTCHAS!, whatever) than substance.

Basically, as another poster already commented, they are dumb as wooden posts.

They can't beat Bush on any front. See my LINKS on post #44 on this thread.

I suspect that they thought that the administration would resist releasing it. Bush XXX, Dems 0.

Will they ever learn?

Maybe Rita needs to become a Freeper and she wouldn't be so shocked

Maybe Rita is a Freeper, and Yes she really is that stupid. (not that Freepers in general are, but she could read facts, and spin them into whatever parallel reality she occupies)

The Dems wanted only the title out. Fortunately, Condi will not abide by Robert's rules and INSISTED on explaining further. Now Ben has to crawl back in his rat hole.

Did those geniuses forget that their gal Jamie Gorelick has seen the thing?

What goofs.

William Schnider made a fool of himself. He contradicted his own network, who has already declared Bush and Condi the winners.

CNN must have pulled Schneider off his bar stool and into a phone booth for the interview. He truly said this memo was devastating for the President and proved Clarke was right.
