Kill those who come to help...makes sence to me.

Was he Kurdish? That would explain it. Of course, being based in Arbil, that would make him a Kurdish sympathizer, at least.

There are so many rags killing so many rags that I can't always see the significance of the associations. So, are Kurds suspected of killing Red "Crescent" leaders here and, if so, why? Or is this a case of Sunnis killing them, or what?

Confusing. Were they also Kurds? (I don't know enough about names in that part of the world to be able to tell.)

This is a VERY serious turn of events.
One would expect Muslims to murder in cold blood Christian missionaries giving medical or food aid to Muslims.
But for Muslims to murder other Muslims giving this aid indicates a total rebuke of all outside help if any appearance of it could possibly be coming from infidels.
It was reported yesterday that Iranian agents are now becoming successful in uniting the Sunni and Shi'ite Muslim sects in a joint effort in killing the American infidels.
Sunnis and Shi'ites have been mortal enemies (even though both tribes claim Mohammed as their great prophet) for centuries.
They are even praying together in Mosques throughout Iraq for the quick destruction of the infidels.
This is a MAJOR, MAJOR turn for the worst against American efforts to bring a Transitional Government into power and transfer authority back over to the Iraqis.
Yesterday (Friday, 9 April), one of the main members of the Iraqi Transitional Government Council threatened to resign unless the Americans STOPPED THE GENOCIDE AGAINST THE MUSLIMS in Fallujah.
The Mullah in Iran are responsiblea large degree of this insurrection.
The war may soon escalate even further, unless we can seal the border between Iraq and Iran, root out the Iranian agents already inside Iraq, and stabilize the uprising.
We are at a more dangerous juncture now than even when we were invading Iraq, because the possibility of fighting Iran could bring with it the threat of a world war.

No sympathy here. This is the same Red Crecent that was allowing its ambulances to shuttle Palestinian terrorists to safety after committing atrocities in Israel and move explosives because they knew ambulances were a lot less likely to be checked (and could be twisted into a PR coup when Israel inevitably caught on to what was happening).
When you make a deal with the devil, you can't complain when the deal isn't what you thought it was. Let this lesson burn in real good. When you kowtow to terrorists, the price you pay is death by the very hands that you are aiding. Spain could learn from this.

This country needs a constitutional monarchy. Find a king with suitable lineage (The late King Hussein's brother in Jordan has been mentioned, do not know if the Iraqis will take to him). Allow the 'friendly to the West' king to establish an army, unify the people around him and bring terrorists into submission.
We have Saddam. Let the Iraqis do the rest.
Democracy ain't gonna work in Iraq. It's too tribal and uneducated.
