Tender moment ... US Marines pray over fallen buddy
GRIEF-stricken US Marines huddle together in prayer over the body of a dead pal yesterday. For a few precious moments of mourning the tough troopers turned from the fury of battle at Fallujah to bid him farewell.
The Marines had fought hard to keep their buddy alive. They had bound his head wound after he was hit by shrapnel, then defied enemy fire to carry him to a first-aid post. But nothing could save him.
Mercy dash ... US soldier carried to safety
The casualty was among more than 40 Americans killed so far this week. At least 480 Iraqi rebels died in the same period.
The bodies of some Americans have yet to be recovered. An official said: We dare not reach them because of the fighting.

All humanity is of one Author, and is one volume; when one dies, one chapter is not torn out of the book, but translated into a better language; and every chapter must be so translated; God employs several translators; some pieces are translated by age, some by sickness, some by war, some by justice; but Gods hand is in every translation, and his hand shall bind up all our scattered leaves again for that library where every book shall lie open to one another.

They pray over over a fallen BROTHER, not a "buddy"
You go to school with a 'buddy'
You double date with a 'buddy'
You play pool with a 'buddy'

I wish I could do more. I feel like I should be doing more. I feel like I should be over there in uniform, if they are.

Yes.
Older now, I feel it more watching young men die for me. Awful yet proud too.

Exactly..
It seems the "journalists" that are so fussy with PC bullsquat -- could at least get that right..
They're mourning a fallen brother -- that they loved, and yes there are some that are crying........Imagine!

Many tears have been shed for all of our fallen and wounded heroes. There are no words powerful enough to express the anguish.

The LORD impressed upon me to speak Psalm 28 out loud everyday! I have shared the intercessors that I know and they have had confirmation. When we speak The Word out loud over a situation we command angels (Psalm 103) who only obey The Word of God! The spoken Word goes forth to accomplish that to which it is sent and does not return void!

A Table in the Presence: A Dramatic Account of How A U.S. Marine Battalion Experienced God's Presence Amidst the Chaos of the War in Iraq by Chaplain Carey Cash
I just ordered this book from www.cbn.com I saw the Chaplain interviewed by Pat Robertson the other day. He said there were so many miracles during one of the worst fire fight and ambush the Marines encountered. Marines told him of grenades headed towards them that were Supernaturally deflected and bullets flying all around them, but not hitting them. He said he recorded the miracles and put them in this book as a testimony to The LORD's protection over the Marines.

Someone should have told the Chaplain that all young Marines witness "supernatural miracles" during their first few firefights...
Most can't believe they survived such a deadly experience -- especially if they suffered KIAs and WIAs...
It's NORMAL for them to believe that God saved them, for a reason -- so they can feel "protected" for the trials that are yet to come...
Then at the end of the tour -- it becomes obvious that is was not God who decided who lived or died -- the survivors were not always the most pious, good or religious among us --- but rather the most focused, disciplined and lucky survived.... To me, it seemed the "good died first"...

"War is not a contest with gloves. It is resorted to only when laws, which are rules, have failed." General George S. Patton.
Hopefully, someone will get smart and will allow our brave warriors to be just as brutal to our enemy as they have been to us. Why should we respect their house of worship when they don't?

I can assure you river rat that the LORD God has saved my son's life on more than one occasion! I was awaken about 2 in the morning one night and heard my son screaming my name. I hit the floor on my knees and started reading the Psalms - inserting his name. As I was praying I saw him stark naked (in a clear capsule) going up - screaming "Mom" and I could hear him. I continued to pray and he would descend; then ascend again. This happened three times and each time I looked at the clock. He was in northern CA in cold weather survival and he had eaten a poison bulb found in a water bed (not indigenous to the area so not on the do not eat list). First he went blind, then he could not stand up; his partner got him down the the camp hdqrs and he was driven to the nearest hospital. The doctors there told the Marines that he was going to die; his only chance was a hospital in NV (one that catered to the likes of King Hussien from Jordon). They sent by helicopter with a priest waiting on the tarmac to give the last rites. At the hospital his heart stopped three times (the times I saw on the clock); they shocked him back. The doctor spoke with me three days later on the phone and told me it was truly a miracle that he lived! The specific are too involved to go into, but the LORD God surely moved in his behalf, as HE has done on several occasions since. The Supernatural is all around you river rat; open your spiritual eyes! The LORD bless you and keep you.

This press irritates me so much by only focusing on the casualties in this war. Neil Cavuto had a brilliant editorial at the end of his show yesterday about how today's press would have reported WW2, The Civil War, and The Revelution.
We've had 250,000 sum-odd soldiers sent over there, and after a year since the war started only an estimated 600 have given the ultimate sacrifice. That's a great reflection on the quality of troops, the means to conduct their missions, and our leadership.

What official speaks that way? The British tabloid press is infamous for creating quotes to drammatize their story. I suspect this is as BS quote.
