VANITY: I'll Make an FR Donation for Everyone Who Pledges to Boycott MSNBC
me ^ | April 8, 2004 | redlipstick

Posted on 04/08/2004 7:14:37 PM PDT by EllaMinnow

I've been driven to post my first vanity by the out and out disgusting behavior of Chris Matthews and Don Imus. Matthews gave full rein today to 4 9/11 widows spouting conspiracy theories...he even said that VP Cheney should be given sodium pentathol before his Commission testimony. Imus has become unwatchable. He has gone far beyond humor in his insults of President Bush - far beyond.

So, here's the deal... the only way we can hurt MSNBC's ratings is by boycotting them ourselves. I'm willing to donate 25 cents to FR for every boycott pledgee on this thread - my maximum is $50, but so is my minimum!

I'm hoping that others might be willing to match my donations. How about it guys? I would love to wake up in the morning and find at least a hundred pledges.

You're delusional. It was the "free love", bad parenting, divorce, drug use and sexual abuse and sewer culture of the Baby Boomers that have brought us to where we are. You are crazy and I am a she.

Who is pushing for gay marriage-- boomer judges and boomer gays. Who is pushing for under god taken out fo the pledge-- a liberal boomer. Who gave missile tech to the communist chinese? Boomers. Who has pushed suicidal "no racial profiling" policies and out of control immigration from terror states? who runs the media? Who runs Hollywood? Who makes up the RAts in Congress? Who hates our military and pushed social engineering in it? Who pushed abortion? Who made divorce so rampant? Who has screwed this country 6 ways to Sunday one million times over? Boomers.

Honey, I know lots of Viet Nam vets, and not all of them think their country betrayed them. In fact, I never heard that from those I know, I heard it later from the media and the likes of Jane Fonda et al. Where I come from, we support our troops, then and now.

I really don't like being lumped in with those who have no regard for the law, morality, and the constitution of the US. Not half as many boomers are for the things you mention as you seem to think. The majority of us are NOT okay? You listen to much to the liberal media, and the Clinton crowd.

Most people think so. Reagan believed so. He believed the vocal minority of the Baby Boomer generation were the worst citizens this country ever produced. It's true.

"Honey, I know lots of Viet Nam vets, and not all of them think their country betrayed them"

Then they are in denial. Their boomer peers and the Leftist media did betray them!!!

Oh my GOSH, why are you so ANGRY??????? We're all in this together!!!! Sorry for calling you "Son"...it's kinda hard to tell with your screen name.

OK....let's have a little lesson in Getting Our Point Across 101.

You said in post 62 "they need to die off". You then said in post 171 "You're crazy". You then went on, in #171 "You're nuts". Moving on to 178, "I would love to be confrontational". #181? "You're delusional". And, the last one, "You can't handle the truth".

No, I haven't gone thru the whole thread to see what other slams you've made to people. I really DO NOT CARE if you are slamming us. What you need to realize is you will NEVER get your point across by insulting people. You may be THE SMARTEST woman on this earth, I haven't a clue. You may be THE MOST CONSERVATIVE woman, again, I don't know you. What I do see is a lack of maturity. You will NOT convince anyone of anything by insulting or wanting to get confrontational.

Are you in college? Are you living with your folks yet? How old are you? What's your goal in this life?

Please...be very very careful how YOU, "faithincowboys", is representing the conservative movement.

OK?

Lately, everyone has been pissing me off. So I guess i'll just sit here with my eyes closed and my fingers in my ears.

Hey Faith, the cowboy is a boomer. Colon Powell, Condi...
Eric Clapton. Rush. Raquel Welch. Get a grip, eh?

"Boycotting" that is, not watching, may ease the blood pressure, but it is useless.

Unless:

You have "digital cable", which is "addressible", and enables your viewing habits to be tracked, compiled and sold. You are charged extra for this,BTW.

You are phoned by someone..do you watch blah blah,
or
you have a Nielson set up...

Unless any of these things apply, your boycott affects nothing but the aforementioned blood pressure.

But, if it feels good, you might as well do it, right?
###
Seriously, Mathews was an apprentice/aide/lackey/coffee fetcher to the classic fat, drunken, bignosed, blowhard, democrap tip O neil of Massachusetts.
What do you expect, Solomon?

Imus is more complicated, seems like an idiot but actually has a clue. He has no love for kerry, is a registered Republican and is highly influential. If he sways the other way, if Iraq starts smelling less vile, he could significantly sway the New York vote.

He has been a miserable lightweight of late though, I agree.

Big Deal?
Imus may have gotten Clinton elected.
Yeah right.
Following the loss in New Hampshire, Clinton promptly declared victory, called himself "the comeback kid", as the bimbo singer long term affair story broke...
60 minutes...
New York was looking bad until Clinton went on the Iman's show. This was the folks first glimpse of his highly developed personal and social skills.
Imus and the crew all went zowie wowie following the softball session, and gave him big reviews, effusing praise effusively.

The polls turned, Clinton won New York.

We can do things to help like writing e mails to the media ,and letters to the editor in our local newspapers. Also we can encourage people to register to vote and to vote for Bush-Cheny.

Unfortunately, the cowboy is in the process of retreating. He has caved to his domestic foes and apparently, his foreign foes.

The fact that the cowboy allowed those Rinos on the 9-11 commish and has allowed himself to get framed for 9-11-- is a problem for me.

Rush is a great guy. Love him. He hates the Boomers too.

Imus is a self absorbed pr*ck.

The fact that the cowboy has allowed Iran and Syria to meddle in Iraq is a problem for me.

I want him to suceed, but he ain't do himself or us any favors.

Evidently because you or somebody you know are the product of drug-induced free love, you've bought into the myth that the majority of boomers in the '60s and '70s were protesters or hippies.

Most of us worked, attended college and church, and had the same values that we do today. What's nice about Free Republic is that we now have a forum where we can challenge the myths guys like you are trying to perpetuate.

I know what we have to do, unfortunately I would probably need to get wealthy people to finance me. We need a Michael Moore of our own. We need a real conservative network. And we need a Daily Show and a late night show of our own. We need to get the truth to the people who never hear it via talk radio and the internet.
