TOOMEY FOR SENATE CO. COORDINATORS NEEDED!
Pat Toomey for U.S. Senate ^ | April 8, 2004 | Billyboy (yes, another vanity post)

TOOMEY FOR SENATE CO. COORDINATORS NEEDED!

Hey, PA Freepers!!

I was just at the Toomey for Senate campaign site and I noticed there were several vacancies listed on the page of Toomey County Coordinators, although he has strong support in the rest of the state.

I wish I could help, but as an Illinois freeper, the one thing I have no power over is connected to PA voters in regional areas. However, this race is still of NATIONAL importance to me because the LAST time I want is Snarlin’ “Scottish Law” Arlen in charge of the Judiciary committee. This 2004 PA Senate race could determine how many liberal activist judges are around to interpret federal laws for years to come. I am so concerned about beating Arlen that this race marks the first time I’ve donated to an out of state U.S. Senate primary.

Toomey’s only six points behind Specter at this point. If there are strong GOTV efforts THROUGHOUT PA, he WILL beat Specter. One of the most important vacancies is Toomey coordinator for southern Philadelphia County. No doubt Arlen will trying to get a big lead out of his home base in liberal Philly. Can some south Philly freepers help to stem the tide there?

I’m pinging my fellow freepers in PA to see if any of you can be county coordinators in these areas. If you can’t, don’t worry, just talk to your friends and family because I’m sure someone will able to able too.

Coordinators are needed in:

ARMSTRONG COUNTY
(Kittanning, Ford City, Leechburg, North Vandergrift, Apollo, East Brady)

CLINTON COUNTY
(Renovo, Lock Haven, Ravensburg)

FOREST COUNTY
(Tionesta)

FULTON COUNTY
(Burnt Cabins, Harrisonville, Hustontown, McConnellsburg, Needmore, New Grenada, Warfordsburg)

MONTOUR COUNTY
(Danville, Mooresburg, Limestoneville, Mausdale, Washingtonville, Strawberry Village, White Hall)

NORTHUMBERLAND COUNTY
(Dalmatia, Dewart, Elysburg, Milton, Mount Carmel, Northumberland, Potts Grove, Ranshaw, Rebuck, Riverside, Snydertown, Sunbury, Trevorton, Watsontown)

PHILIADELPHILIA COUNTY – SOUTH
(Southern Philly area, all urban)

SULLIVAN COUNTY
(Dushore, Eagles Mere, Forksville, Mildred, Muncy Valley, Shunk, Sonestown)

SHOULD ARLEN BE RETAINED?
UNDER SCOTTISH LAW, I WOULD SAY THE ANSWER IS “NOT PROVEN”

In 1995, Specter briefly ran for president and pursued the unique strategy of attacking the base of his own party: His announcement speech lobbed a grenade at “the intolerant Right.” After pressing this theme for several months, one poll showed him attracting support from a grand total of 1 percent of Republicans.”

Man, it would be a HUGE victory to remove Arlen...off topic..but what's your take on your senate race....what I read says the GOP could hold the seat..Ryan's sharp, and the Dem won't play well to the middle of the electorate....got your yard signs up yet?

I think Jack! Ryan is a great campaigner but it's gonna be a close race the Dems nearly swept IL in 2002 and the low level of GOP turnout in the 2004 primary was scary (about twice as many Dems as GOP showed up) Fortunately we canceled out the name problem because the dummycrats nominated "Barack Obama", not to mention that Dan Hynes won about 85 of the state's 102 counties in the Dem primary, but Obama beat him 50%-28% (which just goes to show you how little power the downstate Dems have here) Hopefully some of those disgruntled Hynes & Hull supporters from downstate will crossover to Jack in November.

Also, Obama hasn't seemed to figured out that you're supposed to pander to the center during the general election. Rod Chicagojevich was a gun-grabbing jerk who IMMEDIATELY flipped on his anti-gun views and ran around telling downstate gun owners that he was pro-hunting in the general election and had "changed his mind" about raising the Firearm Owner's ID card fee from $5 to $500. Obama is STILL on TV yapping about banning all guns in Illinois -- he's even attacked Rod for not doing so. Keep it up Barack, I'm sure that will play REALLY well outside of Chicago... < /sarcasm> I find it interesting that the "pro-choice" wing of the GOP had an all-time lowest vote total in the 2004 Senate primary. The "only pro-choice Republican Senate candidate", John Borling, got a grand 2.6% of the Republican primary total in Illinois. Ironically, many of the people who voted for him him were pro-life (my dad is the only guy I know who supported Borling, and that was because they were both 'nam vets..my dad didn't like his pro-choice stance)

We've nominated conservative candidates over moderates/RINOs four times in a row now (Salvi over Kustra in '96, Fitzgerald over Dickerson in '98, Durkin over Oberweis in '02, and Ryan over McKenna/Borling in the eight-way '04 primary)

I personally voted for Jonathan Wright in the primary, but everyone knew Ryan was going to win so my vote was just sending a message to the party about integrity and sticking to conservative values. Jack! was not the most conservative, but he is solidly pro-life, pro-gun, pro-vouchers, and for lower taxes... and looks electable in November. If he gets in, I'd say the era of RINO Senate candidates in Illinois will be permanently gone.

Now...back on topic, after March 16th I checked the election calender and noticed Snarlin' Scottish Law Arlen had HIS primary a month later. Since it's a long time 'til November, what better way to showcase conservatism than to continue to remove RINOs in another primary?

Big bump! We've got to spread the word to the pro-life community in PA. They could easily swing this election to Toomey if they know about the implications of Snarlin' Arlen becoming head of the Senate judiciary committee.

Time to take out another RINO!

I am not voting for Arlen, and I think I convinced a few other people to do the same.
