BAGHDAD, Iraq — A new U.S.-led operation is underway to eliminate the al-Mahdi Army militia, led by the anti-American radical Shiite cleric Muqtada al-Sadr.

Operation Resolute Sword will aim to break the hold the militia has over some parts of two southern Iraqi cities as U.S. Marines and Iraqi soldiers continue to battle insurgents in Fallujah and other cities.

...........Bad news for the bad guys!

I like the sword allusion. Fits with their koran warrior mentality.

Personally, I am tired of these highfaluting names given to these operations. Something more to the point would be nice - like: Seek, Find and Destroy.

I agree. Call it what it is.
