[history]
A Priest Lake man killed his neighbor's 2-pound miniature Yorkshire terrier by kicking it into the air like a football, police said, and authorities have charged him with animal cruelty.
Jelani Lewis and Jessica McKenzie say they are outraged at the death of their 17-year-old pet, Gizmo. Lewis said he watched helplessly early yesterday as three men assaulted the dog the way football players kick field goals.

"Killing someone else's 2-pound terrier: a felony.
Killing your own 2-pound fetus: a right."Exactly my point too!

What is it about animal cruelty threads that inspires people to snipe at good-hearted people about abortion?

When I was eight, a friend's german shepard attacked me while I was riding my bike and bit a chunk out of my hand.
I hated dogs for twenty years after that.

It's that everyday you read heartbreaking stories about cold-blooded, sick, twisted people who kill HUMANS...sometimes their own children with rocks to the head...in the name of GOD for chrissakes.
They get off by pleading insane.
WHile what happened to this little animal is cruel and terrible, it doesn't warrant calling for the perp to be drawn and quartered.
Get a grip. For anybody lurking on this website, we all end up looking like a bunch of radical nuts.
Howz that explanation??
cheers

Viking Kitties for Gizmo because 'first they came for the little dogs then they'll come for us!'

I don't say "drop kick doggies;" they are foo-foo dogs.

Naw... I don't think anyone here looks like a radical nut, 'cept those that try to rant about abortion on animal cruelty threads.... or actually propose that kicking this geriatric little dog was somehow self-defense.

I once owned a rather large dog.
135lbs worth of full blooded, pedigreed German Shepherd, working class.
The smartest and most lovable animal I have ever known.Perfectly trained to heal, leash or not.Dangerous to any strangers on my property.Lethally dangerous, although not specifically trained to be so.
I detest little dogs.I just dont like them.
If I had wittnessed this moron drop kicking this dog, I would have sent my dog over to "detain" him.
Dogs can get off a leash, slip out of the yard or out the door.
That does not give anyone the license to kill them on sight.
This is the USA and dogs and cats are pets.
I will freely kill an opossum or racoon on my porch and property, but unless a dog or cat has actually caused or attempted to cause physical damage to me or mine, I am going to assume they got loose, and search for the owner.
Just as I recently did for a runaway horse who wound up on my end of the street.
And I guarentee you a strange, full grown bucking horse is more threatening to most normal people than a two pound dog!
Too bad the mental defect that drop kicked the small pet didnt run into a runaway horse instead!
I bet the jerk might have managed to controll his darker impulse for gratuitous violence against a larger, not quite so helpless animal.
Again, I really dont like small dogs, but unless they had actually caused me more than minor annoyance, I find it very easy to refrain from killing them on sight.
Call me human.

First, anybody who does that to such a helpless creature is beneath contempt. I am glad that I didn't witness it, because I'd be dead or in jail tonight. Agree. This guy is psycho in training.
How you been Riley?

WHile what happened to this little animal is cruel and terrible, it doesn't warrant calling for the perp to be drawn and quartered. I carry, and I would have shot the kicker, and held the other two until the cops arrived.
Guaranteed.

"The most distressing form of cruelty is intentional. Depriving an animal of food, water, socialization, shelter or medical care, as well as
torturing, mutilating or killing an animal are all considered forms of intentional cruelty and is illegal throughout the United States. In 31 states, animal cruelty is a felony. Animal cruelty by anyone should be considered a sign of deeper psychological problems.
"A lot of research has been done regarding the link between animal cruelty and other violent acts. It has been found that people abusing animals are highly likely to either have been abused themselves and/or are also abusing family members. Many go on to commit even more violent acts such as rape and murder. By reporting and stopping animal abuse, as well as getting psychological help for the abuser, there is the potential to prevent even more violent and pathologic behavior.
From Animal Cruelty and Violence Against People
I am outraged at abortion, and I'm outraged at the cruelty of drop-kicking a Yorky. Your defense of Crawford is wasted and weak. The kind of people that would do such a thing are probably sociopathic and potentially dangerous.

I wonder if the dog was wearing a "tee-shirt and a helmet," as one poster remarked about the tragedy in South Dakota where the Dakota congressman ran a stop sign and killed a motorcyclist. The killer got 100 days.
Have events like this involving the dog always happened and we only learn about them because there is a means to learn about them, or has the sanctity of life lost all meaning?

I think "he should be drawn and quartered" is mostly meant in a ~figurative~ sense these days, folks! If the courts want to do something boring like just cage and fine this jerk, we'll probably go along with that too.
