And 70 men armed with AKs/RPGs is still a major problem.By what standards? We are talking about a whole country armed to the teeth where the major religion breeds lunatics. It's a wonder that 700 don't charge us every day.
I bet we cured quite a few of them today. We'll get the fat guy and a bunch of his personal loonies in a day or two and things will simmer down.

Saw most of him for a change, Mark Levin is on vacation this week :(
I get Laura now, and just heard her caller who said "We just found WMD, Ted Kennedy, a Womanizing, Murdering Drunk!" :)

Perhaps it is time for Saddam's "trial." ?

I'm actually not one that is of the opinion we should have that date so banged into our heads. If they are not ready than they are not ready.
However, the small and I mean small percentage of scumbags that are holding out need to meet their maker and we should provide the introductions.

You clearly do not understand how to handle these matters and in such cases the best advice is to not expose that lack of understanding. Have you ever sent a letter-bomb?

PD,
I must admit, on occasion I have detected a hint of your sensitive side when you speak of your hours in the 'Cat. Thanks for your service.

Bret Baer just reported the Iraqi surprise attack as "wave after wave" and as being by 70 soldiers.

It's just amazing, the media hunts down the tape of Lott at a birthday celebration, but Dodd is on the floor of the Senate and they can't find it!

Well, they never even saw combat in that region. Wasn't one (or more) divisions of the republican guard stationed in that area before Baghdad fell? I have never been in the military a day in my life. The closest I have come is my son being in the military at the present.
However I followed Iraqi Freedom on a daily basis. When our guys got to the northern part of Iraq there was little to no resistance. Some of the Iraqis that claimed that they did not want to fight surrendered. Some walked back from the north to south (some barefoot). After awhile when our guys were in Fallujah all kinds of confrontations started breaking out. A decision was made to let the Iraqis police Fallujah (a joke, a plan, they are fighting the war on their terms, they never really surrendered). We had not step foot in Fallujah for months (why? we've been boondaggled, lol.) It would not surprise me that Fallujah is where the wmds are.
Karl Vick of MSNBC just reported that he was in 2 Shite cities today and the talk on the street was the Shite and Sunnis were joining together against the coalition.
Fox News reported how we underestimated al-Sadr, saying he was just a light weight just mouth.
The bottom line is IMHO we have been had by Chalabi (who the US is paying $350,000 per month), and whoever else.
We need to go back and reread some of our Iraqi Freedom threads starting with a short time prior to May 1, 2003.

According to some european media : Bremer is deliberately pushing Iraq's Shia south into all-out chaos http://www.guardian.co.uk/Iraq/Story/0,2763,1186566,00.html

What do people like redfaced Ted think is going to happen if we suddenly pulled out of Iraq?

The handover will be to an interim government, not an elected one. The interim government will arrange elections and take over the Coalition Provisional Authority, which does not include all the troops.
The betting is a majority will be civilized and decent and vote in a civilized and decent government. The fact of their being voted in should give the elected government the authority to do whatever is needed to bring order where necessary.

They said that the attackers were obviously used to warfare and were not simply firing into the air.

Bret Baer just reported the Iraqi surprise attack as "wave after wave" and as being by 70 soldiers. Well, on that I rest my case.
"they just keep coming.....
Yeah, until we used up 70 big-ass bullets.
Will we EVER learn? You cannot trust those first breathless reports EVER. I learned that when that chubbette Rita Cosby on Fox breathlessly ran from the Supreme Court to tell us all that Gore had won.

You whole up somewhere and have 10 waves of 7 war hardened men attacking you and see how you describe it.

Half of the media does not know what is true or not until they read about it in the NY Times the next day. Can't even depend on Drudge not to mess it up. They all want so badly to be first with the news (especially if it's bad) that they could care less about the true facts.
