I have always liked Nat. I just can't stomach going to the Village Voice to read him. Nice to see him somewhere else.

Good article. And the other side of the coin is that Republicans have gained by being pro-life. The party pros still haven't caught up with that, but it's true. Except in a few very liberal parts of the country, pro-abort Republicans don't do as well as pro-life Republicans. The country-clubbers have caused endless problems for the party with their stupid and selfish big-tent nonsense.

Even in the case of someone like Arnold Schwarzenegger, he wasn't elected because he was pro-abort, he was elected in spite of being pro-abort. But Emily's List doesn't give a dime to any Republicans, and staunch pro-aborts never vote Republican.

Presumably Nat reads FR ~ so it's as good a place as any to ask him why Democrats should care at all about the hard-core, pro-abortionist stance of the Democratic party.

Their position is consistent with the other elements of fascist thinking they've dredged up from time to time with any legislative program put forward. For example you can always count on the Democrats to be the ones asking for draconian sentences for any doctor to make a mistake on a government form if the federales are going to pay part of her fee.

The Democrats consistently take the position in every legislative question that corporations are going to cheat, lie and harm people. At the same time the Democrats always presume that no employee of a government agency is goin gto cheat, lie, steal and harm people!

That the Democrats like to kill babies should not be a surprise to anybody, and the faster the pro-lifers get out of that gang the better off the whole country will be.

If you are committed to killing millions of babies, how can you allow "dialogue" or "diversity" in your party--it means tolerating the presence of people who think you are a mass murderer!

The Republican Party platform is Pro lIfe, the dems are pro abortion, the Libertarian Party pro choice. Seems to me that Nat is the guy that needs to exercise the Reagan right to let your feet do the walking.

'... the question of a former Democrat who told the Democrats for Life of America: "Why has the Republican Party been allowed to hijack the Democratic Party on the issue?" ' Why? Because the democrat party leadership right down to the grassroots believes in serial killing as enlightened social policy ... and they know well that this bloody rite is killing more blacks per capita than any other race. It's democrat population control, don'tcha know! It's murder and its okay with democrat leaders and democrat blind partisan voters. The Pubbies didn't have to highjack an issue, the dnc chose to defend the indefensible and spin it as enlightenment.

I note that it doesn't mention what Terry McCauliffe's response was. Probably, "What, you mean we haven't yet gotten rid of all you fascist pro-lifers yet?". Actually, aside from Ray Flynn, whom I admire for sticking to his principles, I didn't know there were any pro-life Democrats left at all.

There ARE pro-life liberals. It feels lonely being rejected by your own party as a bigot and a fanatic and wherever else they can throw at you to say the party has no room for you.

Now, as a minority, Democrats are down to 204 seats, with 28 pro-life Democrats.

Who are the 28 heretics? And how exactly do Democrats define "pro-life""? All this could mean is that they're against abortion in the 9th month.
