To the Moon, George, to the Moon
The left's challenge to the right's crushing talk-show dominance is hardly a joke
COMMENTARY
By Al Franken
[...]
Can you imagine if Bill Clinton had done this? The right-wing media would have been all over him. "This is the most poll-driven, purely political administration in history!" they would have crowed. It would have started with Rush Limbaugh, then reverberated through the right-wing echo chamber and into the mainstream media until it finally landed on an op-ed page like this one.
But when Bush did it, no one made a peep. Bush got a pass on this, as he's gotten a pass on so many other things, because there's no liberal echo chamber in this country. But starting today at noon, there will be one.
Me.
Plus the rest of us at Air America Radio, the new liberal talk-radio network, which, according to our promotional materials, "combines cutting-edge commentary with laugh-out-loud funny political satire."

How 'bout we put Saddam back in charge - of YOUR house?

There are some who would say that Al Franken isn't the least bit funny, and until today, I was one of them. But this morning, I fired open the LA Times B-section, and was treated to Al using almost all of the top half of the op-ed page, first and foremost, as shameless free publicity for him...Al Franken...and his new radio show, and second, to argue that his show is needed, in essence, because the left is under-represented in the mass media.
Now that's comedy.

never see that sort of show - comes from living in england. but in my experiance entertainment is usually biased towards the general stance of the time - right wing during more right wing feelings, and left wing during more left wing times. atm, its slightly left of centre over here in the United Kingdom, but its slowly becoming more centrist as opposition to labour grows...
heres hoping the conservatives get in before labour get the Euro... bastards

Kind of like the echo in an empty airplane hangar, I'd imagine...

Somebody should tell Franken that the only reason the US is going back to the moon is bacause China has stated their intent to go there and we cant allow China to be dominant in space, In fact lets just say that before Clinton sold China OUR technology they had no idea of going to the moon.

ROTFLOL! Ohhhhhhh .. my sides hurt! .. "a pass on so many things ... there's no liberal echo" .. mind boggling! Guess they didn't get to hear Teddy's or Terry's tirades.
These liberals are in rare form today.
