Whoever said that liberal radio couldn't be entertaining certainly hasn't listened to the first hour of this "monumental event". This show is so bad. Just to amuse yourself with what the liberals want to air in a head-to-head showdown against Rush Limbaugh, give it a listen. It will make your day. Needless to say, no worries of success here.

We need a list of the companies that are buying commercial time to keep this afloat. It is boycott time!!

Hadn't heard Mr. Prager before...thanks fer the link...does he have a national following? One of the things I like most about Rush is the knowledge that he is reaching 20 million folks other than myself and can actually change the focus of the National Media just by bringing attention to one issue or another.

That relies on the assumption that this is a commercial venture, which is an untrue assumption in this case.Is it? I was under the impression that this was a propaganda (ie Liberal) medium, funded by a few rich liberals as an INVESTMENT. The Liberals just can't seem to imagine that a bulk (of NON-VOTING) middle America doesn't think as they do. Thus, some liberal businessmen decided to invest what they feel is a paltry sum, with the potential of a huge financial windfall as soon as 'middle-America' wakes up to the siren call of Liberalism.
When this falls flat, and it will; the Liberals won't blame themselves for selling a product no one wants to buy. No, they will blame conservatives for denying them freedom of speech. If a bulk of America would behave like most Freepers, and take the time and energy to vote; I would imagine that very, very few Democrats would ever be elected.

I'll bet before it's over Franken will say Rush took the day off because he was too chicken to go up against him. hee hee
This is simply a way to get around the law prior to an election. Their problem is the only people hearing it will be conservatives to see what's it about and they'll vote for Bush. The others who will listen are going to vote for Kerry anyway. This will have a net zero effect on the election except that the liberals will waste a lot of their money.

Give 'em time!! The first day, they all had to pass urine tests. As time passes, they'll be able to use some stuff before the show and it should get really funny. It might also be a good idea to station some narcs around the broadcast location. Eventually, they'll have some great targets. You know how arrogant these flaming lefties are.

SHAME ON BOB KERREY for appearing on this program.

Marketing DOES care if you listen to the show. Well, I remember reading an article years ago about the roller derby. Big ratings. However, the demographic watching was the
impoverished. Ergo, no money to spend on the advertised products.
That was contrasted with golf, with low ratings but golfers could afford to buy the advertised products.

Methinks the strategy isn't so much to inform and persuade with this radio network, but rather as a vehicle to launder rumors, innuendo, accusations, and lies. It gives the media another avenue beyond 'sources say', 'anonymous administration officials', 'experts suggest', and 'some believe', adding a layer of implied legitimacy (where none actually exists.) Also another forum to test, polish, and put forth soundbites, slogans, and ridicule schtick, with the most successful then to be picked up by the mainstream media, presented as 'a growing movement in the culture' speaking. 'Listening to America' baloney.
To: Hodar
Who needs marketing when you have George Soros? This is just a front-venue, another way to launder foreign money.
To: Terry Mross
I'm listening to it now. I'm on a T3 and they are breaking up a lot. Al is plugging Michael Moore right now, said that his book was being banned by librarians and went to the publisher and got it pushed through.
- Sorry, I'm not buying it. Its just one lib pushing another.
- There is some woman with a scratchy voice coming in now and then. I don't think she could pinch her nose further.
- Al is doing a lot of Uhs, and Ahs, maybe 15-20 per minute.
- They move from subject to subject, About Clark now, then bush doesn't read the papers, and then says he does read the papers. Now quoting from a paper. Now OPEC.
- They are all over the place and not focused. Rush stays on subject.
- They just claimed zero spin zone.
What a joke.

I chose to ignore them, the numbers they get for ratings will not be affected by my radio. You can listen to them for laughs, if you want to. If you aren't an Arbitron diary keeper, you won't affect their ratings.

I've got Xm Satellite Radio - I only caught the end of the last segment. Apparently, the running gag is that Ann Coulter is locked up in a storage room and they periodicaly interview her through the walls. Even Coulter haters would not find it funny - the thought maybe - but not the execution.
Now Michael Moore is on - says that Harper-Collins asked him to redact some of his charges on W and Moore refused. Bitching about how the Bin Laden family was allowed to leave. And you won't believe it - no question about how Billy Jack let Bin Laden get away because he had nothing "to charge him with." Whatever.
I can't type fast enough to keep up with this drivel.
If their idea of a show is a constant running interview with cast changes every half-hour or hour, they are in for a rude awakening.

I think we need a financial analyst with radio network sector focus to look at what they need in audience to break even, given what was paid for the stations and what the purchased time costs. Then a refined estimate of when they collapse can be issued after each quarterly Arbitron ratings book. common tator is a former radio station owner, host & still has his fingers "in the business".. maybe he can comment????
