Hatch and Frist have essentially colluded with the Dems and have now turned this into a Republican scandel. They ought to be held accountable right along with all of the Dems that are involved in this.

Miranda told Insight in an exclusive interview that both Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist, R-Tenn., and Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Orrin Hatch, R-Utah, broke clearly stated promises to expose collusion between top Democrats and special-interest groups seeking to thwart President Bush's nominees to federal courts. There you have it folks. Bush's conservative appointees were never to be confirmed. They were a bone thrown to conservatives with not a shred of meat left.

Apparently, it takes the skill of a surgeon to make Chester Lott look like an effective leader in comparison.

Riight than must be why we have two new appointees to federal courts whose nominations were blocked by the RATS.

...tells Insight that Senate Judiciary Committee Republicans might fear revealing the outrageous Democratic memoranda lest their own memos come under scrutiny.
This is the kind of BS that kept Clinton in office. Mutually assured destruction.
Release the memos, Mr. Miranda, and let's clean out ALL the trash in the Senate.

This is exactly why I am a lifelong registered Independent Conservative. I fully support Bush on most things (his growth of the Federal government and spending habits are my main disagreements with him) but just can't stomach the GOP Gang that Couldn't Shoot Straight.
Hatch has always been a disappointment, he's a Known Quantity. Frist however....what a HUGE disappointment this guy is. Seems the only thing he will actually fight for is AIDS money for Africa.

Looks like Hatch has turned out to be nothing but a two-faced wind-bag, and Frist was useless from the start....just like Lott. Those two Majority Leaders have been about as useful as tits on a bull.

I don't understand what it means when the article says no one has seen the memos. I have. They were posted here.

Wait a second here...
Miranda is saying he was promised they'd go after the contents of the memos.
HOWEVER, Weyrich is not aware of any promise. He also seems to be saying Frist DOES want to look into the contents of the memos.
Who do I believe? I need more than just Manuel Miranda's say-so about these promises that he claims Hatch and Frist made. He has proven to be less than trustworthy by allowing this to go through the press as opposed to immediately telling Hatch, in my opinion.

The U.S. Senate is probablly the most powerful group of people in the United States, if not the world...You don't want to mess with THAT Country Club...
The fella who thought he was a real James Bond should have taken the time to look at the Republican memos also...He may have just closed the book and gone on to other world problems that need to be solved...

The "problem" is RAT obstruction of the Senate performing its constitutional duty. They will do it at every level.

Reread the article. The organizations that work with the Republican side of the Judiciary confirm that they were told Miranda resigned so that the pubs could focus on the content of the memos. The article also quotes a republican strategist that told of a meeting of Senate Pubs where the same conclusion was reached--by Miranda leaving they could get back to the substance of the memos.
I am concerned Hatch is worrying about his legacy more than the serious criminality in those memos. This is not just partisian bickering. The Senate Pubs on the whole are a huge disappointment to me. They can't get together and fight on issues like the dems do. I don't want them to be unethical like the dems, just get on the talk shows and newscasts when certain issues come up and stand behind Bush when the dems are lying. They seem to forget that Bush bailed them out during the 2002 mid term elections and took a political risk doing so.
Hagel and McCain are worse than dems because they give the media a way to say "even republicans agree with the democrats. Sen. Chuck Hagel said today "(or McCain, take your pick. ) Add Chafee to the weinie list too. For a while Lott went on MSNBC alot to take pot shots at Bush, but maybe his bitterness has calmed down. I do really like our newest Senator Cornyn, miss Sen.Gramm and Sen. Thompson.

Too bad the memos weren't FBI files. Then it would've been OK.
