EL CAJON, Calif. (AP) -- An 88-year-old man who recently had been diagnosed with a brain tumor jumped to his death from an airplane that he had rented for a half-hour flight to celebrate his birthday.
Joseph Harold Frost of Carlsbad died Monday afternoon when he fell from the biplane, landing on an apartment patio, in view of horrified witnesses, authorities said.

He should have jumped over the ocean - where he could have been appreciated by some hungry sharks.
To: Fitzcarraldo

Not a bad way to go....Except the patio thing. The poor patio owner will forever be looking up while cooking on the grille.

Hmm. I'm trying to think of something witty to say, but my mind's a blank.
This was really a selfish thing to do. If he didn't care for his own life, how about not making a mess for your survivors and innocent bystanders to clean up?
I agree, he should have bailed over the ocean.

Does suicide void your life insurance?
Just wondering.

Note to Frost: suicide is not "going out in a flash of glory." You blew it.

Sorry about duplicate posts!
Maybe you should visit some of the facilities and see how our elderly are treated! I've cleaned up some pretty nasty things and I'm glad to say I still have compassion for the elderly. For you I probably wouldn't.

depends on the policy - some have a one-year suicide clause

when Frost took off his safety belt and stood up in front of the pilot. Also endangered the safety of the pilot. We must remember that after we go, the world goes on. I hope that I go in silent dignity.
To: Oldeconomybuyer
Don't these idiots ever think of the people that unwittingly help them in their quest for death!
Jumping from a plane while the pilot is desperately trying to keep you in your seat jeopardizes the pilot's life too.
Same for jumping in front a train. It's an awful thing to do to the engineer.

They should have let you clean up the mess.I agree. The man was not only selfish enough to go out in such a way that he caused undue stress on others who have to clean up his severed body but he's inflicted emotional stress on the innocent family, including the kid, involved.
I have no compassion for such selfishness.

I hope I go quietly in my sleep, like my Uncle. Not screaming, like the kids on the school bus he was driving.
