Let me get my lib-thinking cap on good and tight:
Kerry's minions stole them, and will release them, and then blame the Republicans for the theft (a la Watergate) and smear campaign.
** taking hat off ** ow, that hurt!

I don't know why hillary would steal them. She already has a complete set. Along with copies of the entire FBI and CIA information databases on everybody. You can bet on that. 900 stolen files was just the tip of the iceberg.

Has anyone seen an actual police report of this theft?
I mean, this really happened and is not just a publicity stunt by the author, right?

The FBI gives up its only and original set of files when someone requests them? Wouldn't think so...

Hardly surprising given that John Kerry's brother broke into their opponents headquarters in the mid 70s to pull some watergate style shenanigans.

Nicosia was on Tony Snowe's radio show.
Nicosia is a Kerry supporter.
Weird, eh?

If it FOIA stuff, isn't there more where this came from? And doesn't that info get reacted all to heck before it's released anyway? What could be left in there, unless it's something totally new and unexpected...

What were the "FBI" records doing being where they were. I understand the catche was made up of some 14 boxes of documents. The theft job was professional the cops think. I wonder if any of the files were classified?
Oh Mr. Gordon Liddy, where were you on the evening of --------
Think we better check out the whereabouts of Slime Clinton, and his family?

Interesting story. But I would think that Hillary already has Sen. Kerry's FBI file.

"While researching his book "Home to War, Nicosia obtained Kerry's FBI files in 1999."Well, I think this raises some questions and the public should be aware of just who they are voting for in this November's election. Therefore it should be prudent for the Senator to release his FBI files and put this behind him. Afterall, Americans are a forgiving people, right?
Was this a Freedom of Information Act request? Just how did he get the FBI files?

I'm sure there isn't anything here that the RNC hasn't already turned up. My guess is that the guy reported the theft to hype his upcoming book.

Nicosia must not be the only guy that has Kerry's files. I cannot believe the GOP does not have them as well. They must be available to anyone that wants them. It is not like his files on Kerry are the only ones that exist.
To: areafiftyone
So why didn't Nicosia COPY the files and store the copies in a separate location? Didn't he worry about the files being damaged by fire?

My guess:
No files, the Kerry-supporting author never had them in the first place.
This places a theft story in the media, so if Bush cracks down on Kerry, there can be hints about the stolen files, illegitemate attempts to discredit Kerry, and so on. And the "stolen" files will be used to discredit criticism of Kerry.
In "Rules for Radicals", Alinsky pulled a Stolen File Folder Scam that was hugely successful. He does not come right out and say so, but if you read the chapter you get the impression there were no files.
The FBI will send you 20,000 pages just for the asking? Don't they charge for copying and shipping 14 heavy boxes? There will be reciepts an records. Wonder if the guy filed a complaint? If his insurance company is going to pay for any damages they will demand a police report.

I think Nicosia still has the files and this is his way of telling Kerry "hey I got some juicy stuff on you and how much will you give me to keep the files hidden."
