It's unfortunate that I live in Colorado and will miss most of the political ads (Colorado is a GOP lock and only has a few electoral votes).
However, WE all can place these pics far and wide with the caption, "What ELSE might be buried over there?"

Yep, I did hear that. ...But the media was sure quiet about it, weren't they?
I think we're going to find the damn things by mid-summer. .....close to Rat convention time ;)

See my #16. It is really easy. Also aids the load time since the correct space is allocated from the height and width information.Cool thanks!

The reason the Migs were buried and other equipment as well is because of leaflets that were dropped on Iraqi units that told them to bury thier equipment. It was a mistake in translation and puzzled the army until someone discovered the mistake.

All of those mounds of sand look like they were put there
by dump-truck.
I wonder what ELSE Saddam buried in the sand he didn't want
us to find?

If you add height and width to your image, it will look nicer and it also loads faster!!! Actually, it doesnt. The same image (size and dimesions) is downloaded to your computer but your browser displays it according to the width/height attributes if given.

Perhaps you've just forgotten, but all the media outlets covered this story, with photos and even video. Do a search on Google for "MIG buried Iraq" and you'll come up with over 3000 hits, all relating to the story.
This was some time ago, so perhaps you've forgotten hearing about it, but it was news in all the media.

Welcome to FreeRepublic!
Apparantly our media did not bother to widely carry the story, as I have not been able to find anyone locally that already knew about it.
You'll find, if you frequent FR regularly, that you will consistently be informed about the latest news minutes, hours, and often days before the mainstream media report it, if they report it at all. You'll also find detailed and intelligent analysis, cross-referenced background information, and plenty of wit and humor.
These days, I only watch the news to get the local weather. Everything else they report is old news to me.
Also, if you'll forgive me for pointing this out as you're a newbie, FR now has a spell checker. (Apparantly)

Iraq is such a beautiful place. Look at the stunning views of the large mounds of sand.

Hi Martin. How about adding a "height=300,width=400" within the img src brackets after the file name for the pic. Reducing the size of those hugh jpgs will speed up the load time. Just a friendly suggestion.

I was excerpting the word in question as an example. That's why it was italicized and in parentheses.
My spelling is atrocious on its own, that's why I use the spell checker.
To: smith288
Actually, it doesnt. Actually it does but you seem to be convinced otherwise.

Reducing the size of those hugh jpgs will speed up the load time. This true, but changing the h&w parameters WON'T do it!
The original STILL has to be downloaded, it will just be DISPLAYED differently
One must actually re-scale the picture with an art program like photoshop, then store IT on the WEB.

Actually it does but you seem to be convinced otherwise. Do me a favor. right click on a resized (using the attributes) image, save the image to your hard drive and then view the image through your file emplorer.
