Pictures from Tikrit, 4th Infantry division

Posted on 03/28/2004 3:59:32 PM PST by AgThorn

Well my son's back from Tikrit and 3 rolls of film arrived earlier that I just got around to developing. I guess my son needs to take some photo lessons, or get a better camera or both but there were a few good shots to share. He called me from Bangor, Maine when his 4th Infantry group got back state-side this week. He's now back at Ft Hood in Texas. Hope to see him in a few weeks or a month. Anyway, here's a 'few' shots that are worth sharing... click on the photo if you want a higher resolution copy.

Tough Guard duty in the Banquet Hall. Never know who might steal these tablecloths.

I had to ask. He tells me that it was at the top of the stairs and he never really checked to see what it really was. Could be drugs, flour, plaster .... thought it would make a great picture and then he put it down. Hmmm

On the palace porch keeping watch, machine gun in lap.

My favorite shot ... "Objects in your rear view mirror may appear closer than they really are!"

Enjoying Saddam's marble tub ...

Saddam? No, Dubya, Saddam's not home .. but we are looking for him!!

LOL, those are great pictures. Glad he's home safe. You'll have to let us know what he says when you finally get to see him.

Be sure to tell him "Thank you" for all of us.

Thank you for posting these pics. You can really see all the money that was poured into the palaces while not doing anything for the people. Thank your son for his outstanding service. May God bless you and your family many times over.

Pampered military life.

lol. Just kidding.

He earned the privilege of setting on Saddam's sofa.

It is better to see him in the Palace than Saddam.

We always like seeing those pics of the heroes. Thanks for sharing and shake his hand for us.

Glad he is back and hope he'll get a few days to share with you now. Thanks for the picts. My neighbor has a grandson that got in a couple weeks ago. He's with the MPs and may have to return after a short period stateside as they are short of the MOS as I understand it.

Terrific pictures! Thanks for sharing those. Would you mention to your son that, when he gets a chance, if he'd register at Free Republic there are about 100,000 citizens who would like to personally thank him for his service?
