Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry (news - web sites) will have minor outpatient surgery on his right shoulder next week that may keep him off the campaign trail for up to four days.
Spokesman David Wade said the Massachusetts senator aggravated an old injury to a tendon from the sub-scapularis muscle -- which helps move the shoulder -- earlier this year when he braced himself against an abrupt stop on a bus tour in Iowa during the race for the Democratic nomination.
"He will have outpatient surgery on his shoulder on Wednesday at Massachusetts General Hospital," Wade said. "It's a quick procedure that usually lasts less than an hour."
The injury did not bother Kerry during a recent weeklong skiing and snowboarding vacation in Idaho nor does it prevent him from occasionally tossing a football and baseball with reporters and staff.
Wade said Kerry, 60, was not in pain, except when he made a certain movement such as "picking up a baby on the rope line."
However, he wanted to repair the tear to prevent further injury and "decided it would be better just to get it fixed now," Wade added.
Kerry was expected to wear a sling for a few days and spend time working at home in Boston before returning to the campaign trail.

Well, if I'd been hit in the head with an ashtray, I'd probably be weeping first, and then throwing it back in self-defense next ;-).

Might even have been telling the truth about not having botox shots. Some those age-defying makeups seem to be made for him.

Maybe something else is planned and Kerry wants to be unavailable as well as get caught up on the Botox.

They are going to attach a third arm, so he can gesture with two hands and pick your pocket with the third.

Dole's ED problems began AFTER the '96 election. Plus he already resigned from his Senate seat.

Well, I guess Hillary says it's time. Prediction: complications from that surgery put Kerry in the hospital to combat an extremely rare infection for which there's no known cure. One night, when nobody was looking...
Hillary for president in '04!! Who da thunk it??

I WONDER
If there's any possibility that the surgeon could slip and take out his ranting duplicitous arrogant hyper idiotic vocal cords.

His injury comes from looking over his shoulder and patting himself on the back at the same time...
To: mombonn
Something has pushed that ahead, rather suddenly, IMHO. One word: Hillary. She put skis on the voodoo doll and slammed it into a tree, but when that didn't work...
To: Dan from Michigan
LOL......No doubt he got Kerry'd away trying to pull his head out of his ass.........
Stay safe Dan !

Somebody tell him he's supposed to use his fingers to play the guitar. The palm of the hand is only for the taking of bribes, graft and weekly ketchup allowance. FWIW (not much) he's probably going in for a follow-up procedure relating to his cancer surgery. There are lots of questions about his health -- physical and mental.

These people simply cannot stop lying. Not only that, but he still blames someone else. It's the d@mn bus driver's fault!
